Jarny is underrated as a triggerman. Great shot. Scored 20 two seasons ago and I think he could produce similar numbers with this kind of (much) better offensive talent around him.
A Domi—Nylander—Jarnkrok line makes a ton of sense. Nylander gets insulated with two wingers who have played center before, and Jarnkrok is one of the better defensive wingers on the team. He’ll be able to cover for any defensive lapses Domi and Nylander have.
Also, both Jarnkrok and Domi can play either wing, so the line can end up being fluid in execution.
The success domi had with matthews, why not leave them together?
Makes sense to me? Domi an elite setup man. Both those guys got wheels and can rip em. Nylander is a pretty balanced playmaker/scorer too so it works.
That line is going to be hard to play against. Not from grit but they are going to be really fast and play with a lot of pace. They are going to catch tired guys stuck on the ice in the own end and roast em
Jarnkrok should not be in the top 6. His hands are where offence goes to die.
It’s not Patches so I’ll put down my pitchfork. Switching Marner and Domi still makes too much sense though. Especially if Auston gets Knies as well.
If they both want to get paid 13M then they should be doing the heavy lifting. If they want to play together then take less so we can ice a respectable bottom 6. As of now Nylander and Tavares are forced to carry the weaker wingers. Makes no sense.
Call me optimistic but I can see knies domi and jarnkrok getting 20 goals this season. Jarnkrok might have a nice bounce back year.
How obvious is it to switch marner with domi on this line. It would give you two first lines that are fairly balanced. Hopefully at some point they try that.
I think I’d still like to see the Domi-Matthews-Knies line again but I don’t hate this breakdown at least early on
I’ve always wanted to see Jarnkrok-Matthews-Marner, the third guy on that line really just has to be a decoy
The leafs are so delusional its not even funny anymore…. Jarnkrok is an over paid third liner, and barely a third liner at that… To move him to the second line over Robertson is baffling… Then on top of all that we got woll, guy hasn’t even player 40 games over his career yet we sign him as he’s gonna be our number one…. Leafs going out on 4 games this year. Watch and see… Wait till next year when they finally blow it up if you want hope again.
