  1. You can tell this has hurt him bad, hopefully sean you guys will pull off a great season for Johnny

  2. It's easy for the public to say "what a tragedy" and it is but we have to realize that Johnny was a friend, a partner and family to many many people. These guys are human. Let's not forget that.

  3. This is awful for Sean Monaghan because I think he JUST signed with Columbus this summer and can’t play alongside Gaudreau, from this interview it sounds like they were going to buy houses 3 doors down from each other! Dreams shattered at the hands of an aggressive drunk driver. I think of Guy and Jane Gaudreau everyday, hockey was Guy’s life how does he go on now…

  4. Monny, my heart truly dropped on sooo many levels that Friday…Johnny, Matty, Meredith, Guy, his whole close nit family (especially on the day of the wedding..), And for you Monny…
Thank you far allllll the joyful memories you and Johnny brought to me, Calgary and the whole hockey family….
You’ve always had the most class in all of NHL…I miss ya and I’ll be truly cheering ya on and want nothing but the best for you my friend…
    RIP JH🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🫶🏼

  5. Sean & Johnny both hate flying and were support buddies for each team trip. Just another reason this is a tragedy beyond words. Don't drink and drive.

  6. A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking about how Sean Monahan was going to react to the tragic death of Johnny Gaudreau, because I remember they were teammates for many years in Calgary. When I heard he got a 5 year contract to play in Columbus, I was sure he was going to be looking forward to playing alongside Johnny, his former teammate; which unfortunately is not going to happen now. And I remember feeling empathy for Monahan for losing one of his best friends.
I hope he is able to come to terms with this tragic loss.

  7. Oh my gosh, this breaks my heart.💔 How excited they were to reunite as teammates.

  8. Sean buddy when I heard this it ripped my heart out. Such a senseless thing to happen. Johnny was an awesome player. Small guy. Huge talent and even bigger heart with his family and teammates. This is coming from a blackhawks slash Vegas fan. God bless you bro and the entire Columbus team. And the gaudreau family and friends as well. If there's any consolation the bros are still together. R.i.p. John and Matty.

  9. Classy but I miss you in Winnipeg- I was looking forward to you playing with Johnny again and so happy for you and now I am so heartbroken for you

  10. Was mad at Johnny when he left Calgris. I feel selfish for that. Just wanted him to be a Flame forever. Now he’s gone gone! 💔 😞

  11. Calgary flames please rescue this young man. We have the cap space and my heart can’t handle him being alone in that dressing room. Fuck me it hurts 😢

  12. I have personally lost a teammate mid season out of no where and can truly say it changes individuals mindsets. Way of life and how they play and appreciate the game. I expect to see Monahan have an absolute fire under him this year to avenge Johnny. I want nothing but the best for monahan and hope he gets the help he needs.

  13. Loved this guy in Calgary. His injuries ended his time here but I'll cheer for him wherever he goes and I'm so happy he's healthy again

  14. My heart aches for Mony, rooting for him to absolutely crush it in Lumbus this year 💪🏼

  15. I wish nothing but the best for the cities of Columbus and Calgary after this monumental loss to the hockey world. To be cut down in the prime of your life while being an expecting father is totally unfair and cruel by any measure. RIP Gaudreau brothers.
