Pius Suter is absent from practice today

Kind of the lines that are expected, can’t wait to see sprong with Petey and debrusk

  3. Ok_Worry7833

    Juulsen is better than forbert.

Glad blueger’s back, not shocked but a little surprised Åman draws in above Räty. Thought Aatu had a better preseason showing, though I suppose Åman might just be drawing in for Suter at center too. Curious to see who sticks between them and Bains, especially whether Räty stays with a healthy club on the wing or gets sent down to develop further at center. The face off numbers alone were pretty enticing for the most part.

Can Raty go down without waivers still?

I haven’t felt this good about a Canucks forward group in years, but I strongly expect our defensive depth is going to be proven insufficient

    Friedman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>…. Forbort

    Forbort – Desharnais is rough.

That pair is going to get eaten up

  9. Exciting but Sprong seems too dumb to play on a line with Petey.

The way he had that open net to shoot at last game and could have given his linemate the tap-in, but instead he held on the puck too long and got taken down, so the puck went uselessly wide and his linemate yelled at him like « what the fuck I am right here! »

He holds the puck much too long, too often, and has a glaring problem using his teammates.

I think it makes sense to play him some more in pre-season and see if he uses his linemates better (maybe he didn’t trust non-NHL linemates?) but if he keeps playing like this, I would expect him to replace Raty as the 13th forward when the games count.

Keep him as an extra until his hockey IQ gets a GED or something.

Hoglander is the Canucks secret weapon. Guy scored 24 goals without much PP time and he’s now on the 3rd line. But you can also move him up with Millsy or let him generate scoring on the 4th line with Sherwood.

    Amazing.

I still wonder if Vancouver makes an addition via waivers or by trade. Whether that’s a forward or defender.

If they claim a forward, send down Bains/Raty. Have Aman as the spare forward.

If they claim a defender, waive Friedman and send him to Abby.

  12. StarkStorm

We all know one more defenseman will join the org.

Man losing Dakota Joshua sucks. Hope he makes a full recovery.

I hope Raty gets some actual playing time, and at center. Otherwise I don’t see the point of keeping him in the main roster, I’d much rather see him get some first line minutes in the A, playing at center.

Next season he can just come and plug into that 3C role looking even better than he did this preseason.

    Bains over PDG is crazy

  16. When Joshua comes back, I do like the idea of Hoglander playing with Sherwood and Blueger/Suter/ Raty or Aman in the 4th line
