I hate Boston, but I hate the wings more
ESPN + is a joke
The Detroit purgatories
red wings fans are gonna blame the refs for this loss instead of looking at the fact that their captain hit the post on a breakaway within 30 seconds of OT starting. next time, capitalize on your opportunities when you get em instead of bitching about officiating.
Huge Bruins fan… we got away with one here 😅
Obviously a penalty, but Detroit is in good position for the lottery and a new coach
Brincat DOVE
Bruins won a game
Ref should find a different job if he's afraid to make that call in front of the home crowd. Pure trash.
That wasn’t a penalty. The Detroit player was holding Pasta’s stick then went down trying to draw a penalty. Great no-call. Maybe the refereeing situation in the NHL is on the up after all.
Pasternak got away with 2 penalties there to set up the winning goal.
Quit whining about a non penalty call. Watch the replay. Kkokob is spot on. There was no penalty. Watch the replay…closely. Alex is holding the Bruins stick. PS quit crying and score more goals. Winners find ways to win.
I nailed this one! Pasta 4+ shots. 2 for 2 since starting my X channel. Off to a good start! Pasta Picks. @ppicks88
Yes, DeBrincat was holding onto the stick (fighting through an albeit very weak hook/hold) and the stick did not trip him. But also, you can pretty clearly see that at 2:49 if you watch it closely and at 0.25 speed, Pasta levers his stick on DeBrincat's right hip, throwing him off balance, and then brings his left hand around to shove DeBrincat's legs out from under him. You can see the Pasta's arms extend as he completes the push while DeBrincat is going down. That meets the technical definition of the tripping penalty. As others in the comments have said, watch the replay.
Full disclosure, I'm a Wings fan, so I obviously want the call, but I want a good team that doesn't leave it in the hands of the officials. If the teams had been reversed, I'm pretty confident that I would feel like we got away with one, but I'd still be happy, so I can't blame the Bruins fans. I will concede that it was at the very least a tough call either way and can see the no-call. However, I will also say that it's pretty smooth brained Jack Edwards type thinking to say he intentionally went down to try to draw a penalty.
Edit: added point about arm extension.
Wings fan here: 2:11 Debrincat made a bad decision by not passing back to Compher, or even up to Edvinsson. Instead, he tried to out power a much stronger player by holding his stick which ended up costing him his balance, a turnover, and ultimately the game. Good no-call by the ref as Pastrnak was simply standing his ground. Cat has to make better decisions with the puck there.
The bruins should have lost in the first minute after another bonehead play by McAvoy
A mugging wins
