My son’s best friend died 2 years ago. He would cry and get overwhelmed at school, and the kids made fun of him.
Marcus signed my son’s Foligno jersey I got him for Christmas. He wore it to school the first day back from winter break.
He came running outside smiling and excitedly yelling “Mom, mom, everyone loved my jersey and I’m like famous now”.
It was the first time I had seen him that happy in 7 months.
When I told Natascia, she gave us tickets to a game, and my son and his friend were invited down to the locker room after the game to hang out with Marcus and get signed picks from the players. My son got one signed by Pat Maroon while Pat was in the sauna, and my son was so excited to have this sweaty puck from Pat.
It’s been a year since this meeting, and my son and his friend still talk about it.
Thanks to the Foligno’s for helping heal my sons heart and making him feel so special ❤
