  1. Faber got screwed for rookie of the year last year. He played more minutes per game and was better in plus minus.

  2. I really thought Jets were going to get him, now the Central is getting more and more competitive

  3. If Guerin see something he truly wants, the Wild have the equity in prospects to obtain draft picks. When you add in Wallstedt next fall and this D core, the Wild are gradually nudging the needle into cup contention. Good trade for both clubs, Hunt gets a chance to play, Jiricek gets a change of scenery and some different trainers. For Columbus, time will tell depending on their draft picks but both teams look to have improved for what their needs are currently.

  4. Danila yurlov is scheduled to come to America this year at some point and we have ohgren too..and after this season the money to buy a more talent.
The future is bright here in the state of hockey.

  5. Big ups to Billy G for making a move to make us better while the team is hot. He understands that we don't want good enough, only the best

  6. Wild beat the Predators in a very high energy and physical game tonight. 15-4 and 2nd in the NHL. Looks like a "Win now" move to acquire Jiricek and we smell deep playoff wins

  7. But the wild only need a few parts to be a good team….

Not like the wild are trying rebuild a whole team…it's a smart move…

  8. As s Jackets’ fan I’m just about ready to throw up. THIS? This is the best package Wadell could get out of how many offers?

  9. too much to pay for potential…. I mean now I think Minny loses it.. but … if he becomes as he should .. then a good deal… but then potential is not a grade thing to trade for .. Nail Yakapov proves that.. .

  10. I'm sorry I see nothing here! The Wild are the same with or without him. Next year is the year!

  11. Looks like ownership wasn’t lying. They intend on competing for a title in a couple years. The amount of young talent the Wild have is insane. And now the buyout penalties are mostly over this next season.

  13. Okay as a wild fan i like this trade, jiricek is promising future player, i can see faber and jiricek in the defense

  14. This shows that the Wild are looking ahead to the playoffs. They are looking to address one of the reasons for their abysmal playoff performance in recent years. They already addressed the poor playoff coaching by replacing Evason. One of the other biggest problems was the size of their defensive core. The Wild are talented but have always been undersized. They were absolutely manhandled year after year in playoff style hockey. If he fits with the team chemistry wise, this should be a big step forward in the playoffs.

  15. BILL GUAREIN IS THE GOAT. Damien hunt is good player but he is only at best a AHL TOP 2 defenseman maybe nhl depth guy

  16. Jiricek is the big defender MN was looking for. I think the risk is worth it. BG continues his slow upward roll towards building a contender. Kudos for building draft capital and prospects for trades like this.

  17. What the actual ef? I can’t believe the Wild pulled off this trade….and salary cap hell will end after this year. This is massive. Dare I say this is Wild?

  18. Put missing Brodien also he and merril r gonna have to compete for ice time our ahl team is decent but wild know how to produce some decent players

  19. We really need to bring the cup to the state of hockey and get more kids out on the pond

  20. That Wild 1st round pick will be in the 20's in a very weak draft and the 2027 2nd round pick won't be in the NHL for another 7 years…the other 2 picks the Wild got for dealing role players at last year's deadline… Hunt is a forever 6th/7th NHL defenseman… I cannot believe the Wild didn't have to give up one of their established past 1st round prospects…Billy stole this one… Now its upto Jiricek to take advantage of his new situation..

  21. They can add Jiricek, they can add Yurov, they can add Wallstedt, and their ceiling is still 1 and done in the playoffs. Want to make this team a contender? Move the team out of Minnesota

  22. Minnesota is a great team, but their weakness is almost always defense. That's where they fault. We have two great goalies, but goalies prevent shots from connecting, not them from happening. We need to keep those shots from happening, and this is looking good for the playoffs and even well into next year

  23. Telling Wallstadt to get a place in Minny and then sending him down was a pretty big mistake by Guerin…

  24. In all of this talk of Faber and Jiricek, people still forget that the Wild drafted D-man Zeev Buium, who's looking like a future perennial NHL all-star. Just a fucking stacked future D-Corps for the Wild.
