We need to stop saying players are wasting their final playing years. The penguins have been perennial playoff teams and won a few cups. No offense but its about time. Other players from other teams have wasted their careers not having the success the pens and sid have had

Imagine if they had like Batherson, Tomasino, Maccelli, or even Adam Fox. Or ALL of them. In fact all of the drafted players were so bad they had ZERO value, and no first round picks for years.
Fuck, he even gave away 2nd and 3rd rounders for players like Winnik who nobody ever heard of. Those guys SHOULD be 22-30 year old dedicated penguins now.

I see the general consensus here is to blame everyone except Crosby Malkin and Letang. The guys who made up 3/5th of the WORST POWER PLAY in the organization's history last year and changed nothing about how they play on it entering this year? Nah that's the problem, the fish rots from the head imo
Blame Karlsson? The guy who had 100+ points running the PP for a trash SJ team the year prior to signing? Not his fault Sullivan doesn't have the stones to take 71 and 58 off the PP and let him run it. So now they just have 3 turnover machines on it instead.
Blame goaltending? Nah, how bout a bunch of guys in their late 30s shouldn't be playing such high risk hockey hanging their goalies out to dry?
Blame Dubas and Sullivan? Yea maybe I guess they've collectively sealed the team's fate but A keeping all the old guys together while B refusing to ever give a young player a complimentary role along side Geno and especially Sid. Case in point trying to stick them together this year as if a line thats doubly old is better

Should've started rebuilding instead of keeping Malkin and Letang around for the feelgoods. They made the exact same mistake the 2010s Red Wings did, and now they, too, get to enjoy over a decade of pain and misery.

Hey Eck! You should cover Utah vs Carolinas game. Utah killed a straight 10 minutes of penalty time in the 3rd period and their goaltender Vejmelka had about 50 saves on only one goal. It was an absolutely insane 3rd period

As a Penguins fan, we need to trade away EVERYONE (besides Crosby), and try and get some young talent on your side. We need to just rip off the band-aid and begin the healing process

Dubas had an offer for Ullmark almost completed and said "nah". Now The Pens have returned to being Shittsburg and the Sens are competing for a playoff spot (Granted, it is early)
They need to break up that top line. When your top forwards are all guys age 37+, you’re gonna have issues. Sid, Malkin and Letang are all still great players, but they’re holding the Pens back from a proper rebuild at this point. Trade away at least 2 of the 3 and start rebuilding with new faces for the top 6 forwards on the team.
Here's the play. They're going to be super awful. Fans aren't going to come to any games. It'll get worse. Is this the end of the pens? BUT WAIT! They win the Draft Lottery and Draft another generational talent that saves the franchise. Rinse and Repeat.

all the other key players are old and slow, No more cups for Crosby, Malkin and other oldskool, unless they are traded to a more contending team. They also need a solid Goaltender.
Penguins fans are still very proud though, I made a comment like this a few months ago, feeling bad for Crosby and trying to defend him and I was berated by pens fans telling me how their team has won more then mine blah blah 🤦♂️ hopefully Rutger can carry the torch when Sids gone?
