Sorry Patrick, but I can't resist. Broberg watch: 17 games played he has 2 goals and 10 assists for 12 points. His plus minus is plus +6. He's 6-4 and 212 lbs. Can't forgive Bowman for letting him go for nothing. These waiver claims seem like putting a band-aid on a gaping wound. Put Bowman on waivers. Bowman is trying to 'accrue' cap space to acquire whom? Bobby Orr? We'll see who is available in the next couple of months, and what Bowman can do, if anything. Not holding my breath. Still can't figure it out. Trade Cody Ceci. All that had to be done then was match the Blues' offer for Broberg. Then there would be no need to 'accrue' cap space to find someone else, a player who might not even exist and if he does might be traded to some other team that would want/need him as much or more as the Oilers. See Chris Tanev for a good example. Maybe Jacob Truba is this year's example. Ken Holland would have figured it out.
Ken Holland was the problem. Their own house should have been priority before going out to free agency. This is especially so with young talented first round picks.
