Chris Johnston knows his stuff! this was a great watch
Very interesting move for the Wild. Lots of upside for this guy.
Both parties get what they want but you leave this thinking the Wild have the upper hand in terms of potential to hit the home run.
Getting a prospect in Jiricek who the Wild graded as the 5th best talent in that 2022 draft for essentially a handful of what we presume is later of the round selections plus Hunt who was to be trade fodder, Minnesota has to be excited. If I was a Columbus fan, I'd be extremely frustrated that my org is trading away another talent to kick the can down the road.
Make sure y’all subscribe to the channel. Great in-depth Wild coverage from the team itself to even prospect stuff. This channel is the go-to for all things MN Wild.
Jiricek coming to the Wild kind of feels like when Niederreiter was sent over by the Islanders as a 21 year old, former 5th overall pick.
All I can say is 'Good Luck". Jiricek showed himself to be completely uncoachable during his stint in Columbus. They'd go over his mistakes on film and he'd go back out and make the same mistakes the next game. It should also be noted he failed with two administrations (Kekelainen/Vincent, and Waddell/Evason) who both saw him the same way. Yes, the Wild gave up a lot of picks, but those are basically like scratch off lottery tickets. Maybe they'll pan out, maybe they won't. In ten years we'll probably look back on this trade as a "meh" kind of trade. Six players in the first round of the 2022 draft have already been traded. Usually the first overall pick in every draft is well known ahead of time. That wasn't the case in 2022, just ask Shane Wright.
Most of the draft picks are no picks from dewar trade . Wild didn’t lose much
