As bad as Hextall was as a GM … and he was bad … Dubas has actually managed to take Hextall's team and make it worse. Many thought that was impossible, but here we are.
While Eller was one of the Pens better players, the Pens need to get younger. They made a bunch of moves to get younger and then sent all the kids to WB. You want to see the future by hanging on to the past.

I get it. We need draft picks. What good are they if we use them for new trades? We have been so trade happy, it has gutted our talent pool. Yes, the system works, but it fails if you can't read your own hand writing.

Man, THAT move is SO crazy perplexing to me! Of ALL the assets…of all the RETURNS…of all the DESTINATIONS…THIS is the move Dubas makes, in November???? Like seriously: wtf?? Makes NO sense to me! DK sums it all up from 5:21 – 6:06.
But seriously: Why ditch Eller and keep 58 and/or 65?? Why not try to move Jarry for an actual #1 NHL goaltender?
Good morning DK,…….ok, boy oh boy am I confused and wondering what's coming too?! I believe of the big 4, Karlsson and Letang are most likey to be trade. If that rumor of Petterson going to the Canucks is true, for their Petterson, I really like that! Maybe the Eller picks are part of that deal so we've then kept all the picks we've acquired over the last year. So, Letang to Montréal????? Karlsson…who knows with that contract BUT Dubas has made incredible deals before AND I believe in him.
Half measures never achieve fully desired results. Dubas and Sully need to be on the same page. If Dubas is acquiring players that cannot play in Sully's system, it's pointless. If Sully is not revamping his system to match the player's capabilities and skill sets, that’s also pointless. The Penguins suck due to this patchwork managing and coaching.
Even if the players play their asses off and beat a good team, they can't do it consistently for a long enough period of time to make the playoffs or succeed in them if they were to luck themselves into them.
They should have ripped off the bandaid years ago and done the quick turnaround. Instead, they're wasting what looks to be another impressive year from Crosby.
Sometimes, the superstars need to be told the hard truth. Management didn't, and now Crosby and the team is going to be worse off because of it.
I guess we fans have to learn to appreciate the Malkin and Crosby highlights more since wins will be few and far between.

I understand why Eller was traded, just like I understood why Jake was traded last season, but I don't understand why Dubas chose to trade them to division rivals. Just because Pens suck doesn't mean they should make it easier for other metro teams.

I don't think there's going to be many takers for karlsson or letang unless the team wants a guy that can go a -3 or -4 in one game.

but I remember once or twice this team (in a certain manner) handled diversity well – it was towards the end of last season against NJ – where I was @ work & they were down 3-1 after the 2nd – & I honestly wanted to turn it off cause I knew this team would never come back from a measly 2 goal deficit … but I kept the game on & they end up scoring 5 goals (including an empty netter) in the 3rd for a 6-3 victory … I was wishing to see that effort against the Stars on Monday … but you can clearly see the team just give up … the 2nd & 3rd were a little better … they gave atleast a little effort – going 1-1 … maybe the Stars are just too good ..
"NHL player" is a stupid demand. An obvious non-playoff team. Geno is 38, you think a "NHL player" coming back for him is going to be someone who makes the team better?
Sure, a decent 30 year old for Geno might make sense if you had some giant prospect pool about to graduate.

Eller is not the answer. Nobody is the answer ( fire Sullivan ans break the Core was). You might looking for the answer, why are they become a crap, in player moves in 2018- 2020 . And the Hextall era too. Now it is late. It will last about 8 to 10 years they become competetive. And it is Sid´s fault too, and not that it isn´t.
Gavin McKenna draft is 2026, so if we're tanking, lets really tank next season.
