Only if Tavares gives the Leafs a tremendous hometown discount. His acquisition and contract spawned "the gold rush" which shackled the salary cap.

Absolutely not. His trade value is higher than it’s been for a while and at the price tag he will demand, it doesn’t make sense. Marner needs a new contract and we need to trade taveres now while his value is this high. He’s too old and this is his last season at this level of productivity
Let some other team overpay for his services next year.

Now, if only my favourite of all athletes, Bianca Andreescu, could be reborn, even if for just one more big win. That’s would be the apex for me, even more than the Leafs winning a Stanley Cup. As a Sens fan, i hope the Leafs change absolutely nothing. Seems like things will work out like they always do. Leafs are an easy out for any team in the playoffs
