Nobody wants to play defense, including the Defensemen.
It’s not like we ever add on to our leads either we usually score 2 goals then do absolutely nothing the rest of the way hard to hold leads when that happens all the damn time both offensively and defensively we’re absolutely pathetic. There’s never a counter push back when the other team pushes back!!

At the risk of over simplifying…The Pens are slightly too slow and slightly too old..doesnt take much to make a huge difference playing in a league that keeps getting bigger, stronger, faster, younger. When you get just a little tired, you have breakdowns and blow leads.
If Drew O'Connor was a natural goal scorer he'd be something to behold.

Is it possible, in the vein of the curse of the Bambino, that Mario has put a curse on the Penguins? The last time they made the playoffs was 2022, a season that saw Mario sell the team on New Years Eve 2021. I find it very convenient that the Penguins have gradually declined, and eventually falling off a cliff this year, since Fenway Sports came into the fold.
Sullivan is a good coach it's the GM who needs to go period and who should have never been hired.
I haven’t been a fire Sullivan person for a years. BUT I something has to change right now and unfortunately it has to be him. Right now! Is it time to go to games and start chanting “Fire Sullivan”?

I’ve made this comment several times. This team is poorly constructed. O’Connor is not more than a third liner. We do not have a first line winger. We have a bunch of other teams cast aways. How is this team going to win when they don’t have the talent that other teams have. You made great points DK re some of the players. That’s valid. But the team is not constructed well. I didn’t expect anything more to be honest. I said at best they’d be 22nd in the league (bottom 10). It’s obvious when you see the lineup.
One wonders what stops Sully from going into the locker room and saying “ I’ve had it with the stubborn poor play and laziness…I’ve tried to train and direct you but you insist on being an embarrassment to the organization, the fans, and the city. I am therefore resigning for my own sanity and physical health. I wish you well.”,,,,,
DK, I have a question. Am I missing something, why is nobody talking about David Quinn and his accountability as an assistant coach responsible for defense? What about his connection with Erik Karlsson and making him better both on defense and PP? Also, PP is better, but nowhere near where it should be, right?
Pen's problem as a team they want to score goals but not share in the responsibility to prevent them. Letang, Karlsson both need to go and they need to get 2 or 3 die hard defensive minded defensemen. They wont win with Jarry.

After Saturdays game we don't play till Wednesday. If we get 3 or less points in those 3 games I'd say Sully is done.
I dont think a coaching change will make them significantly better but Sullivan is completely lost. He needs to be fired so someone else can come in and hopefully have a few of these players play better so they get some value back in future trades.
