En retour, les Oilers ont reçu Jimmy Carson, Martin Gelinas, trois choix de première ronde et 15 millions de dollars en espèces. Cet échange a choqué le hockey et a considérablement accru la popularité du sport aux États-Unis.

  1. The Leafs at the time Niedermayer was drafted, probably would have ruined him. They were still absolutely brutal then. As a fan you think his career would of been the same if Toronto drafted him. But it would have been nice to find out if he could have changed the franchise around.
