Don't say this org sees pionk as a top 4. They don't have anyone else to fill the role. Besides that, pionk scores enough this year to make it easy to give him ice time.
The top line has been good, but not the second line. Vlad is not a 2C and Perfetti has 4 goals in his last 32 games. That is not good production for a second line winger. And lately it seems the first and third lines have been having to carry the second line because of how ineffective it is.
That's why if a trade comes up for a legit 2C and a top 4 D, and Perfetti is part of the asking price, they need to pull the trigger. The window is now, and they can't afford to keep waiting for him to develop.
Really, the main problem with this team is that the players aren't deployed properly. And there's stubborn resistance to change anything. Other teams aren't afraid move players up and down to balance out the line-up. But for the Jets, barring injury, it's the same line-up every game. So we don't know what different combinations might work there's no attempt to try.
And the top line may look good, until they play teams like the Avs, Knights, Stars or Kings. You can't find them, and the team always looks second-best. They don't control play, they lose pick battles, and they hardly generate shots on net.
