NHL is just not that popular in America as the NFL, NBA, and MLB.
I hope that the Pens don't turn into the next Pirates or wildcard Steelers.
On the Winter Classic issue, the real reason the ratings were down was because they didn't make it available for everyone, it was on TNT which is not on any of the streaming services I have.
If we trade rakell, Crosby should move on, just because he has no help. Any time he gets chemistry with a winger we trade them in hopes of getting something decent. Dear Lord please don't trade Rakell

As an African American growing up in Pittsburgh in the 60s and 70s, loved listening to the games with Pierre Larouche and company. We had no access to ice skating rinks, no equipment, nothing. I say this to point out that hockey is still missing that all encompassing inclusion that encourages youngsters to pick up a beautiful game. Do that and you'll start getting more personality and more American followers which just grows the game. JMO
here's my thing with the Winter Classic: this year it was on NYE. Why? There was 6 other games that day, including the Pens. It wasn't special. And nobody cared about the Blackhawks. Yes they stink but they've been there before; Connor Bedard isn't resonating like the league wants him to. And hell, next year its in FLORIDA. What part of that says Winter?

It amazes me the NHL doesn’t emphasize that Sid is still climbing the ladder of being the all time points leader in the NHL …! All we hear about is ovechkin reaches the goals . But Sid is better 😂. Ovi is over the hill. Sid is still competing at the highest level. He will definitely finish the season averaging a point per game. It is time for Garry Bettman to retire. 👌🏼
Total facts mcdavid has the personality of a door knob 😂. Which is fine but we don’t have the storyline to tell the audiences trying to grow the game and get more attention.

McDavid is the most talented player of all time, what he does in today's game is simply amazing. But DK you are right, his noise is all on the ice, off the ice he's not a great talker, and his reserved personality is hard to promote and market….unless on the ice. I fully expect him to put up three points tonight and for the Oilers to win 5-2, with Drasitl getting a bunch too. You know Connor will visit Pittsburgh tonight looking to make a statement…."you guys had Lemieux, Crosby, Jagr, Mailkin……I am better." I honestly believe he plays with Sid at the four nations, learns from Sid and they win, he will lead the Oilers to the cup possibly this year. When it comes to proving something, Sid has done it all and McDavid desperately wants those accolades on his resume. To see how great he is for Edmonton, one looks at Sid's resume and says, boy as a Pittsburgh Penguin fan we were/are spoiled.

I've been watching the Penguins for over 30 years. I have never a goalie cost a team so many games and even playoff series. How can Mike Sullivan continue to justify putting Tristan Jarry in net? The team clearly has lost all/any confidence in him and rightfully so. They clearly do not play confidently with him in net as he never makes the important saves when they are needed most.
