Yep. 30 better than a. hill was the difference. A who gives a fk w at this point. Isles road to playoffs more difficult this season with none of the playoff teams from last year falling (except b's), nj, caps better, pens trying, and sens, habs, hot wings turning the corner. I heard isles would have to play at like a .750 pace the rest of the season and would have to pick up max 55 pts. in final 41 games to have a shot at playoffs. Not gonna happen. In other words isles will end up in no man's land-not bad enough to get primo lottery pick yet have no chance to move up in lottery being too far away from nhl bottom.
And 29 played like he gave a fk with g, a. Maybe 29 will force louzer's hand to make a move? More likely scenario louzer sits out tdl festivities too scared or too stupid to join festivities just like '23 when 24, 40 should have been moved for assets. Louzer couldn't get a toy whistle for 24 now. Too bad ownership doesn't have the cajones to remove this louzer NOW before tdl disaster strikes.
I am not trying to get my hopes up. I would like to see some rebuilding in a big way. Need picks.
Gil this team is not going to the playoffs, the reason is that there are too many teams in front of them. They would have to go somewhere in the 26-16 record, that is NOT going to happen. No way are they going to play over 500 hockey all of a sudden. They have not played that well so far and cannot see them winning at a pace of over 500. As far as Lou is concerned in my opinion he is lost. The game has passed him by, no clue how to fix the Islanders. I hope 0n January 20th that we retire two 80 plus year old's who do not know what day it is..
I don’t care about devalues, I want honesty. I want him to admit his decisions were wrong.
Fell asleep and I’m in shock 4-0 islanders lol, had to be a good game for Sorokin thanks Gil 👍🏼
Absolutely Islanders best defensive effort of the year. As a team they were solid in their zone in front of Sorokin. Individually 28 was a beast and 8 was night and day as far as making right decisions in the defensive end. Overall I'm happy for the troops although I'm not holding my breath for them to make the playoffs, nor do I think it's beneficial for the long term success of the team to do so. Let's rebuild around the nucleus of the club, by subtracting what inevitably needs to be parted ways with, develop promising prospects, and add new players to the core. Last thought, besides the goal scorers, a few individuals stood out on offense 13, 7 were assertive and aggressive making plays , and to some degree 11 as well. For the star of the game I'm going with 28 two of the goals developed to his defense transitioning to offense, and he also laid some massive hits and sacrificed his body by blocking shots
Oh man Gil this was a good one it made me realize we can work our way up the rankings these guys gotta want it like they did last night
I don't know. It could be another Canucks or Leafs victory thing where the isles show that they CAN beat any team soundly, only to be swept by the Red Wings and other horrible teams. They could have made up ground on Pittsburgh and didn't. Now the Blue jackets could be passed. But do we want them to win? Lou is starting to scare me with his threat to keep everyone at the deadline. Not trading the expiring contracts would be a friable offense. Learn from the Mayfield and Varly mistakes.
The game was played "faster" playing on instinct and not over thinking it. They were more physical as well. Keys for them to play well is to play the overall game faster and be physical.
Good 🌄, Gil, how are you? The Islanders looked good from start to finish. They not only beat the Golden Knights, but they shut them out. Putting Romanov and Dobson together was a smart move on Patrick Roy's part. Congratulations to Anders Lee on playing his 800th career game, and scored the GW goal. The PK looked good, and the Islanders won a challenge. Now that most of the injured players have returned, they've looked better. Hero, Anders Lee for his 800th NHL game, and scored the GW goal. Brock Nelson. Casey Czisikus, Bo Horvat, and Ilya Sorokin. 🐐, the PP again. Can they stay consistent? Ever since the Golden Knights have been in the league, the Islanders have played well against them. Also, I always give props to the opposition, and the case in 👉, when a player says to the Golden Knights, says SHOW ME THE 💰, to quote Cuba Gooding Jr. THEY'LL DO JUST THAT. Varly's facing some shots, but there's no Cap Space, NICE GOING, LOU. Isiah George's still day to day. Hudson Fashing's day to day also. Lou Lamoriello's got to say that he has confidence in his team. The Islanders have 6 or 7 months to retool. The Islanders are going to UT tomorrow for their first game ever. UT is not looking so good these days, let's hope The Islanders keep them off track. HAPPY 🎂, DANTON COLE. He retired with his name on the Stanley Cup with rhe 😈. Hear from you later, Gil, and LET'S GO ISLANDERS.
This team is impossible to watch. Happy for the win against a great team, but their inconsistency is mind boggling. Glad Ilya proved himself between the pipes
I don’t buy this team. They are notorious for making it look like they can contend and then rip it right out from under you. Charlie Brown has yet to kick that football
Good morning team! Gil, Wow! I was pleasantly surprise when I checked the score this morning. I'll have to look at the highlights on this one. Just goes to show, any team can get a win against any team. The Pens even got a win over the Oilers!! I don't have a lot to say about this one. Everyone is saying it was a wonderful defensive effort. Maybe it's rising up to your competition. They have to ride this high. They need to want to feel this good after every game. I still believe a rebuild is the right path for this team, long term. But, it's okay to be excited during games like this. Utah is next. Can we make it three? We'll see. Everyone, have a great day and a wonderful weekend! See you all again Monday. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
Gm Gil. That was not the game I was expecting in a positive way. I'd like to see them string together some wins … but, they are still one of the worst teams in the league and like a shiny penny, they should not be distracted from moving on from their older players and bad contracts.
Isn't this what they did last year, play well when trade rumors ramped up
Hey Gil just had to comment, they have beaten the two best home record team in each conference beating Toronto and now Vegas. Butchie said Lee is having “one of those years” where he is in the right place and scoring…19 goals! Also they said that Duc is not at 100% even though he is playing and won’t be all year. But lets see how the 2 week break affects him. Barzy was +8 going into the game. I watch Jack Hughes turn so fast in short spaces and see Barzy has a longer turning circle but he has becom a great 2 way player. He should be the next captain after Lee IMO.
I was shocked. I turned off after 2 periods. Honestly figured they’d blow it somehow. But 4-0! But. Need to see a few more before I believe
