Tough night for Woll and the top line. Matthews and Marner were both -6 tonight. They may never have a game like that for the rest of their careers. Rest up and be better on Saturday.

Leafs played as usual. The difference was goaltending not being able to save the team. it would be nice if the team could bail out their goaltender once in a while.

leafs need to badly learn pp unit…guys like knies domi on pp n pacioretty should not be on pp unit …ive seen almost every leaf on pp unit…like timmins n patch…wtf…both go from pp unit to healthy scrathes lol ..leaves me speachless..no…. marner… HE PLAYED DEFENCE WITH THE LONDON KNIGHTS…reilly back end… willie and austin deep…and JT infront…GUYS…YOUR FORGETTING SOMETHING….YOU HAVE TIME OUTS…USE THEM IN A LOSS ESPECIALLY…when i see a loss and no time outs takin is extremly frustrating…after canes score take an effing time out…before your pp…take your efing time out to rest your top guys…do what canes do 5 forwards pp..mitch can play D..GUYS I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH…USE… YOUR… TIMEOUTS STREGICALLY THREW GAME…after they score take 1 n take away thier momentum…berube good on defence yes…but with 159 career points he lacks offence abilities..
First 2 goals for Canes were on Matthews. Just standing there in front of the net and didn't cover the Canes or lift the stick. Poor effort !
Matthews needs to take a long look in the mirror if he thinks the PP has been "pretty solid as of late" it's a complete joke.
The last time the leafs beat a team ABOVE them in the standings was way back on Dec 10th, 2024 against Florida, and even that was pushed into overtime, where the leafs were lucky enough to squeak out a 3-2 victory.
So far this season, the leafs are 3 and 5 when it comes to beating teams above them in the standings. That's 8 games out of 43. It would seem that the reason the leafs have so many points is because they are feeding off teams far below them in the standings, and in general. And they've had a tough time beating those teams, to boot!
When they play better teams, such as Washington, Minnesota, and Winnipeg, they haven't faired very well this season.
They'll soon be playing teams closer to them in the standings, such as New Jersey and Dallas, so we'll see how that goes. But I'd like to see them do much better against the top teams in the league, because they will need to get through them to even dream of getting to the cup.
