  1. Its always nice to hear someone talk about the ducks who actually watch them. Especially cause you know how good and important zegras is to the team

  2. Man, was waiting for this video! Great analysis as always and very balanced!

I personally am thinking Cronin needs at least one more year, so long as our record is still close to a playoff spot/better than last year. At least let him ride out this year if he will be fired and allow a new coach the off-season to establish his system/personell and relationships with the young team. Maybe I’m wrong and don’t understand how quickly things can turn around with a new coach but that’s just how I feel.

That being said there is a choice for HC I would like to see, Gerard Gallant. He had an overall winning record in the NHL, and seems like a players coach. Hearing him mic’d up on the side lines engaging with his players, coaching them up and just keeping them loose with humor seems like it would translate well with young players. I don’t know what system he runs so I would be curious to look back on his time either NY/Vegas to see what they did.

Are there any coaches you would like to see behind the bench, District5? Maybe an analysis of what these different coaches could bring to this team would be a welcome video. Thanks man!

  3. You're my favorite Ducks YouTube her I wish you great success in this New Year and I hope we get lots more Ducks of videos to come no one breaks down the team as well as you do

  4. I've managed to find myself in the middle of the fire or keep Cronin debating. I just don't think firing him midseason and taking the first-best we can find in the limited market is a good idea. We've seen good improvement in several youngster's overall games and my cope has become that Cronin's job is to teach the individual fundamentals on-and-off the ice while whoever we bring in next season can build on these fundamentals and start adding advanced team tactics. As for Verbeek, I still have little issue with him I like the draft, I like the trades, I like the moves and non-moves we do, it's really just Cronin that is his sore spot.

Love the vids keep 'em coming!

  5. honestly the ducks have been pretty fun to watch at times this season. theyre still pretty undisciplined and struggle when the game gets long imo, but i think thatll come with time. with zegras and sennecke hopefully playing next year i think they could compete for a wild card spot

  6. Hells yes. DAY MADE. 🎉 So glad the goat came around to start making the best hockey content out there. It’s nice to turn my brain off a bit and just focus on the sports.

  7. I've been enjoying the Ducks this year than in previous years. It does feel like things are getting better. I'm not a fan of Cronin but I do like how much he's improve the discipline of the team. It almost feels like he's setting up the foundation for the next coach to build upon when he leaves.

  8. Love the Ducks content. I’ve been on the crowd to fire Cronin, just because of the regression that is looming with both Leo, Minty and even Olen to an extent. The earlier they trade Dumo (and breakup the Trouba Dumo line) the better as watching from the box isn’t helping the kids. Also need to get Leason away from Leo, to the extent I would break up the Strome Terry Vatrano line to get Troy helping Leo develop. There’s a ton of little moves they need to do to prioritize the kids since this season is looking more and more like a bottom 10 finish

  9. Damn dude, I like your stuff. Definitely the most well rounded and really well edited video.

  10. Great video and takes on the Ducks current stage of their rebuild. Firing Cronin for say Montgomery, made sense but currently I can't think a coach I'd want to replace him with. Although, as you stated, I agree his man on man D structure doesn't work. On top of that I also feel like he's trying to make every player into the hard working, north south, dump and chase type player. Instead of utilizing their skills and building their complete games around what they already do well. Glad to hear someone who watches Ducks games, speaking on the Zegras trade rumors.

  11. I always have this looming feeling that guys like (Killorn, Trouba, Gudas) come out here to figuratively "be put out to pasture, and enjoy the sunshine before they retire" As a life long Ducks fan I pray for the day we get some real mean aggressive talent (Parros esk with just a bit more skill) to help regulate the ice and let our skilled super stars do what it is they know how to do. Zegras is not a defensive minded player, so the hell what! His skill and creativity is amazing for team chemistry and morale. People who say he isn't good for the team are people who clearly never played a sport or watch the ducks outside of an NHL On The Fly highlight and do not get how team dynamics work. You must have all the characters in the locker for it to work, the clown who keeps it light and fun, the quiet bruiser who will rip someone's head off for his boys, the old leader he doesnt say much but leads by example but will lay it down when needed and the skilled cocky assholes who hate to loose! I pray for the day we see this place turn into the amazing hockey team we deserve.

The "fans" here in So Cal will never be the rowdy super loud, in your face hockey town that other places have or that some teams need to get hyped up. Its a white collar high dollar area, sorry to say it but people who live in Tustin don't yell at sporting events. These fans are not those kind of people who scream and talk shit to the other team, and if you live here in SoCal you know exactly what Im talking about. Its hard enough to get a "lets Go Ducks" chant going let alone any type of fan culture or traditions. I feel sorry for the DJ in the games trying to do anything he can to get any type of energy in the building, and to think this is miles better than what it used to be like. Trouba IMO is an amazing addition. No, he's not in his prime, he's not a franchise changing player but damn its nice to see someone in a Ducks jersey lay a hit on someone.

I hope they can figure out what it is thats missing because when it happens the Ducks are going to be a scary team to play!

O, and bring back Bro Hymm for God's sake, no one like the new song. Thats the one thing we have thats "ours" BROTHERHOOD!!! ITS LITERALLY IN THE SONG!!!🫡

  12. Again great well thought out content. I wish more hockey folks knew of this channel. Quality over quantity. 👌
Of the Ducks, my thoughts whatever it's worth… I think maybe not in the future but right now they've gotten experience and leadership to their blueline and feels it kinda has started slowly showing. It's still a young bunch but couple physical hardnose guys on the blueline (and in the locker room) might be working some magic in terms of team's balance.

  13. It would be great to hear a more in depth discussion of the Ducks’ talent development process. It seems like they really struggle in this department.

  14. Great breakdown! I think we miss the playoffs again this year but i think we’ll be in a better spot next year. Dumo will probably be moved at the deadline and it sucks cause he’s a good player. But it’s gonna be good for LaCombe, Minty, Helleson, and Zelly to be out there every game along with Trouba and Gudas. I think the best time to fire Cronin would be this offseason and i think we should go after Marner and bring Sennecke up

  15. I don't have any answer but the Ducks need to stop with the weak passes, the no-look passes. They need to throw more pucks at the net while other players are crashing the net so they can get to rebounds instead of trying to feather a pass in front of the opposing crease. They need their defensemen to stay along the boards AT the blue line to hold pucks in the zone. Too many times pucks are wrapped around the boards and nobody is home.

  16. From watching MacT, Leo an Cutter, one would assume that Senneke is 3 yrs away from being an effective NHLer with this development group. The offense is non existent, last in the league in most offense categories. I don't see how they continue with this coach after this season.

  17. Stop playing mediocre vets at the expense of our young stars! This coach and GM want to finish .500. Is that what’s important? And trade Gibson – we can finish last with him or without him.

  18. Dostal is a really good goalie on a team that doesn’t help him out every night. And yes save percentage and GAA are stats that do not represent the quality of play for a goaltender
