Did a team balloon deflate when Jones returned in Dec? Small sample size I know, but they were 4-3 after Anders took over, before Jones returned, and 2-9 since.
Sorry but what are we doing here? Have you already forgotten the likes of Dach and Boqvist who were rushed into the NHL too quickly?
What good does it serve to bring up all the young guys next year? So you can have some more short-term fun watching this team, Mario? Sorry, but that's just incredibly shortsighted and counterproductive. And I'm nor talking about the guys who are ready and being artificially held back to keep veterans around (as you could argue with Nazar this year). I'm talking about all the other guys who'd be, at best, trying to stay afloat up in the NHL, because they are just not ready. Colton Dach is in that category this year, so was Korch last year. Even Nazar, who lit it up, is not producing. And constructing a team of more Dachs and Nazars next year won't help the rookies' production.
That is on top of the fact that the Hawks don't have a lot of guys who are Nazar-level ready in the first place, and they won't next year either. The truth is, the Hawks' prospect pool is not the same as the Sharks'. It is not as deep, and more importantly, not as ready.
That's why we NEED bad seasons to improve that prospect pipeline. How has everyone forgotten how long development takes just because the Hawks are maybe 7 spots below what everyone expected this year???!! My God.
Edit: While I'm calming down, Jay is basically making my exact point. But I don't understand how you say that, but 5 minutes earlier you two (I guess Mario specifically) were talking about getting rid of everybody to basically send out a U21 team next year.
