I think the jets need to make a splash for either a star top 6 forward or a star top 4 dman or even both. We need to go all in and win. We likely won’t ever have a goalie as good as Hellebuyck again, and he chose to stay and win with this team, so the org owes it to him to try their best to make that happen. We have lots of expendable players on our team. Appleton, Kupari, Barron, Iafallo, Perfetti, Stanley. We need to make something happen.
Dylan Cousens and Byram from Buffalo are two we should go after. We need to do this sooner than later. The Jets team has fantastic chemistry right now . Last year proved that waiting for the trade deadline is too late. The new players don’t get fully assimilated into the Jets player group seamlessly without enough time. This player group is tight. So tight that they’re willing to keep helping Logan Stanley even though he’s not good enough to be there. Disrupting this tight knit group disrupts the flow state they’ve achieved. Look no further than the Canucks for what happens to a team with no flow. Or look back to the Jets playoff performance last year.

No matter who the Jets trade for there must be one condition……Logan Stanley has to be a throw in for the price of a bag of pucks!!
I love Lowry as the 2c and I've been saying it for a while. It is easier to fill from the bottom anyway. Kupari is looking as 3C in a very short run so far. Gus is a good 4C if you can stay healthy. The big need is a big top line right shot defenseman to pair with Morrissey. Demelo and Samberg become the shutdown pair. They need to move Pionk before the trade deadline in any case because he is inconsistent and overpaid. I think Perfetti is trade bait at this point as well. Replace him with some grit.
Barzal is overrated. Not worth the price. The best trade deadline adds are more subtle.

As far as Barlow etc. we don't sell the future for a chance at right now. Barlow, et all are products of a fantastic farm team, scouting and talent growth effort. You don't sell them off for a maybe. Barsal isn't much bigger than Perfetti. Who's to say he can do anything more than Perfetti with our team. You don't sell the farm for one bull.

One of the things I have come to appreciate about Chevy is that he is great at extracting maximum value from every deal (with the exception of the Devin Setoguchi deal with the Wild, which was for a second round pick in 2014). While I want to see the JETS GO all in, it's not their style, and, with Chevy, that's OK. GO JETS GO!

I don’t know if Barzal is a difference maker or not (talent-wise, yes, culture-wise, who knows) but he is very expensive. His $9m salary likely means shedding salary (good players) now to make the trade work and going with cheaper youth next year.
1st round pick, 2nd round pick, Lucius, Barlow for Barzal. Plus either Yager or Lambert.

There’s plenty of scoring due to the great chemistry so don’t go subtracting to add. Just make sure the third D pairing is solid no matter what it takes. It’s really the Achilles heel of this team. Heinola deserves a real chance to play 82 and it doesn’t look like he’s going to get it here so let him go and take Stanley with him. Just get a solid D man worthy of second pairing and stand at that.
Lamarello would love to have Perfetti and that baby face. Stanley too. I will never understand how a policy can be enforced which prohibits facial hair.
