I think after nearly a decade it's finally time to allow Marner and Matthews to run their own lines. They do not need to be on the same line anymore, it's not good for the team and it's bringing down other lines trying to get their line to work. Marner is a proven quantity without Matthews and Matthews showed us last year that he is as well.

McCabe is an absolute stone. Does not give an inch. So glaringly obvious when he isn't in the lineup, its concerning.

If you look at the line combos for the next game, you'd think the coach blamed Benoit, Lorentz, Dewar, and Reaves for the loss (and no, I don't think Lorentz fits on the top line). Where's the accountability we all heard about with Chief? Where's the balls he was supposed to have when dealing with star players? Why does this kind of thing always change when they (coaches AND players) suddenly join the Leafs?
I realize now, this team will never really change and hope is a dangerous thing. Floaters like Nylander will always get away with mediocrity. Domi still playing C? WTF is going on? At least when he played along side Matthews last year he was made useful. This team is a joke. Maybe 55 years of watching almost every game is just too much (and certainly no longer worth paying to go watch a game live!).
The game they played against the Lightning at the start of the year… that's the team I thought we were getting… just like Florida, Nasty, hard, in your face, dog on a bone, move guys from the net, passion!… that's the team I've always wanted, man that was impressive, so we know what they CAN do, but refuse to do. Sadly, that's not the team/coaching style we got. This team refuses to play nasty, truculent, don't-u-dare-touch-my-puck-or-teammate hockey.

If Stolarz is healthy, he should be the number 1. Domi is overrated, he's got like 4 more points than robertson who makes a fraction of what domi makes, yet takes so much blame and hate 😂 Myers timmins are 5 6 defenceman. Top ahl defenceman. We still need better d. A solid 3rd line centre, and a very strong producing and responsible defenceman, a right shot.
