Has Jarry lost his passion for the game? He doesn’t look emotionally engaged.

  2. Really pisses me off how Pittsburgh controlled both Tampa and Seattle games shot wise and zone time and STILL gave BOTH games right to them. Also all three of Ottawa, Tampa and Seattle were on losing skids coming into Pittsburgh. Getzoff said Seattle lost 5 of their last 6 coming into last nights game, Tampa had a failed California trip a week prior and Ottawa wasn’t playing well either. It’s comical at this point. Sorry for the long comment. Had to vent

  3. I remember you said on yesterday’s pod that Chandler Stephenson had only 5 goals coming into last nights game. 2 plus minutes into the game he beats that loser

  4. I really really hope a team is dumb enough to pick Jarry up off waivers. It would be the best thing to happen to this team.

I also wonder, is our poor defensive play a reflection of the goaltending? You guys said it yourselves, you can see the players deflate after a weak goal is given up after they played a dominant 45 minutes, and from then on, they were a complete opposite team. Who wants to play their hearts out and play amazing defense for a goalie who can’t make a simple save and reward their good play? It’s hard to find the drive to play great in front of a goalie who can’t make a save for you. Maybe a different goalie (probably Blomqvist) will make them play better, too.

  5. Dubas had to be sitting in the press box for the last month thinking Jarry is going to get hot or get hurt, either of which solves the problem. Neither = painful options.

  6. Jarry on waivers had to happen, whether another team takes him or not, I doubt it, but who knows. Puckpedia indicates the Pens will save $1.15 million in cap space if he clears and goes to Wilkes Barre.

As I said, it had to happen, you might as well cut your losses and just move on. I see this playing out like the Jack Campbell situation in Edmonton last year. He clears waivers, spends the rest of the year in WB, and the Penguins buyout the rest of his contract in the offseason.

I think a change of scenery is what he needs, I wish him the best but it wasn't working here anymore.

  7. Sad thing is it is better cap wise for them to just bury Jarry in the AHL for the next 3 years, than it is to buy him out. Dubas backloaded his contract so much with a signing bonus that…
    — Jarry's buyout cap hit in 2026-27 is $5M, and his buyout cap hit in 2027-28 is $4.5M, and then he would still be a $767K cap hit from 2028-2031.
    — If buried in the minors, Jarry's cap hit is $4.2M through 2028, and then he is off the books after the 2028 season

And btw … Graves contract has the same issue, which really underscores just how much damage Dubas has done in less than two years. The Pens are going to be giving away nearly $9M of wasted cap space through 2028. Hextall placed the lid on the coffin, and Dubas has hammered in the nails.

  8. Here my thing if John cooper sit out point for miss team meeting why can sully do same with his player with there play like maybe sully should sit out geno out for game for his lazy game I’m just saying but idk

  9. I also feel pens can’t get next game winner goal also why loseing game beside goalie and defence

  10. The penguins are the ultimate Streak breakers. If you're a team that's on a winning streak you play Pittsburgh we will beat you. If you were a team that's on a losing streak, come play Pittsburgh, we'll let you win

  11. What has Jarry won to get a 5 million contract?

This is the best move. If we go on a run while Blomqvist is playing than that goes to show this team can win with those timely saves, and saves they make that maybe they shouldn’t.

I don’t hate Jarry as a person but man that contract and his play has no business being on this team

  12. Dumping Jarry is long overdue. Honestly I was out on him after the Islanders playoff series that he handed to them. Dubas has definitely gotten smarter with his moves, but man, his first free agency here was pretty bad, there's no denying it.

  13. We could still see them move Ned by the trade deadline and call up Larsson, so we'd have the WBS tandem in the 'Burgh, Jarry in WBS with (most likely) Murashov.

  14. This waive is the best thing for all parties involved… Jars is probably gripping his stick hard enough to snap it, and the big boys are probably ready to kill him on any given night…

  15. I feel bad for jarry. He has been awful this season but he's still a human being. Whether its with the penguins organization or another hoping he can correct whatever the issue he is having. It is a crucial road trip but at this point 4 pts out of 2nd wildcard spot with most teams having games in hand on them nothing short of 5 or 6 game win streak will legitimately put them back in contention.
