I’m going to go ahead and say the comparison with this management group to jim benning is pathetic . You sound fragile after one bad game . Milsy is playing injured but in the last few games he hasn't been playing he has been thinking and stinking. Petey just can't play when he has a hang nail he is that mentally fragile. The real story is not Milsy or Petey it is the team's inability to play with structure and frankly the bottom 4 D-men have been team busters they have played so far below their abilities. Petey after the best game he has played this season in Toronto laid and egg right along with the rest of the team. You don't win many games when you let in 6 and barely get one goal. That has to be rock bottom for the team this year, it was really ugly.
Miller was in position from blue line to blue line. That was Myer's man.
I hope someone at your show sees my comment and maybe discusses this on the show but…. I feel strongly that the team core is broken and needs a reset. The Canucks have one of the best players in Hughes and every year they mess around they are wasting him. I don’t know what he will do when his contract is over but you need to plan that he might be gone, so you should be maximizing every asset to win while he is around. I don’t care who or what you trade but this team needs to make some moves to support Hughes because what they have just isn’t working.
Media provocatuers spreading negativity. This is why you two will not survive in this industry.. Retire before you suffer the humiliation of being canceled.

Ok seriously. Can we not talk about this team with at least a little reason and fairness? They massively exceeded expectations last year. We knew with the state of the defense coming into this season this team is not as good on paper, AND we should be expecting offensive regression from last years output. They were never a true "contender" this year and we shouldn't be putting those expectations on them. So where does that leave them? a bubble playoff team, if things go right. Well, they haven't gone right; significant games lost from literally every key player except Garland. But yet, It's not too late for them to find their game in the second half and if you're an optimist there's even a chance they go on a heater and "get hot at the right time" going into the playoffs. Unlikely, but still there's a chance. That all being said, I like where this team is headed. I'm full of hope for what Lekkirmaki, Willander and D.Petey (maybe even Kudriyatsev) will bring to the team next year. THAT could be truly transformational.
Need a top 4 D Man bottom line.
The players know the team is not going to be successful. That is why they don't have the drive. Petterson is not a driver of play. The top player on the team needs to be the game changer. He is not. There is some sort of swedish connection with the ownership.

Big problems starting with the EP contract,guy did not play well after All Star and his whining in the media should have punched his ticket out of town. Then lack of cap kill them on the Dmen side even with Myers taking a big shave.
Rutherford is out of touch when comes to knowing what this team needs.We have a small team and some of our team stars need protection and they had that last year but not this year.There will be nothing left to Hughes by the time they get to the playoffs
Tochet is changing the lines to much. And when they find a line that works, they get split and lost

i like miller and you have to take the bad with the good sometimes but you have to be blind to think miller has never given up on plays or checked out some games. maybe hes hurt right now but its happened a lot in the past
Canucks are and always will be a crappy team. We Vancouverites should be used to this by now.
petey makes more on one powerplay than most people make in a month. i broke his salary down by average minutes per game and his annual salary and he makes $7000 per minute he spends on the ice, so each powerplay is another 7k in his bank. is he worth it? absolutely not. his foot speed is way down from two years ago and his shot is nowhere near what it used to be.
watching Myers just give up 6 minutes into the game and allowing Connor's breakaway to walk in and to have several chances (if he needed to) made me furious!!!! I won't spend a penny to watch this team live as long as he and a few others are still around. I won't pay to watch them on f'ing amazon either. what a joke that is.
Rick, you gotta be kidding. Myers led the play on the rush, JT was "covering". JT can see his 2 wingers are deep below the goal line, then he let's 2 guys get behind him, gets lapped by Myers busting his you know what to get back, while JT lollygags his way back. You gotta call that out Rick, it's not Myers fault at all. Why are you letting JT off the hook? You think JT would allow any other Canuck to be that lazy without chastising his teammates? They gotta hold JT accountable in the room. That goal killed any chance we had last night.
The Canucks overachieved in every category possible last year, expectations were simply too high coming into this season. Add to that the injuries, and it's pretty easy to see that this team isn't performing that badly. I still think we have a bright future, some great prospects, some great young pieces to build around. We're a couple of adjustments away from being among the top franchises
It’s not that easy to make good trades and it hasn’t been since the pandemic. Back in 2020 and 2021, they couldn’t have tanked and rebuilt even if they wanted to. You have to win through the draft and you can’t do that if you don’t have picks and prospects.
This dcore is crap. I don't want to trade anyone. Let the team sail. If they don't make playoffs fine. If they do, great! But, we get a high pick this years draft if we dont . We still got willander , and d pettersson coming in next year. That is going replace scrubs on the dcore for better talent that will move the puck up better than juulsen or soucy or desharnais or forbot. We got brannstrom , brisebose , juulsen , friendman , forbot coming off the books next year. That is 3 million at least . If we can make a little room for a good two way dman from the potential stanley cup champions this season sign . Great .! We fixed the dcore !
Don was a grump on this episode. Hughes is not 100%. Not even close. We just got our #2 dman back. Is he supposed to just light it up out there? Miller likely playing hurt. Long road trip with travel issues. Sub par goaltending. And against a top team in the…league? Talk about a poor game to put some much stock in. Ridiculous. Don is wrong about rebuild. We lose Boeser because we don't have room. He was our pick. The idea that you can be Chicago from yesterday and ride out your draft stars and win cups for a few years is DEAD. You will develop the picks but can not hold them when they hit their stride. All you do is enjoy them until you cannot afford them all. Oilers anyone? They couldn't keep enough of the drafts. It's an endless, hollow, wishful thinking pit. Don points to Winnipeg affordable drafts. Sure sure. They won't be able to establish a destiny nor a year of splendor.

Trade Petterson to the highest bidder, use the cap space to get assets from contenders, try again next year. Build this team around Hughes, not Petterson.
