I feel bad for Tavares the leafs are about to prove over the next month why they don't need him anymore
It is very evident that when the Leafs play the Devils, they set up the game for the Devils to beat themselves. Looks like Sheldon has to Keefe it quiet after that game.

Leafs WIN ! Great, as a longtime Leafs fan, I’m happy about that. Comeback wins are exciting. 2 by Willy, 2 by Auston. Marner is clearly a WIZARD, he’s been more physical this season without sacrificing his offensive output. Both Matthews and Marner played complete games but Mitch still thrives on the Jawdropping pass attempts which have become his TRADEMARK. I LOVE HO❤W good Willy’s shot is, however he is NOT the forechecking force that are Mitch and Auston. I can’t help notice that both his goals last night, he was WIDE OPEN, MANY OF HIS GOALS are of this variety. Can’t rely on this to happen in the postseason but he’s a great guy to have on the PP. Let’s not forget that this is a contract year for Mitch and he’s playing maybe the best hockey because he’s being more physical. MATTHEWS IS SIMPLY MAGNIFICENT, can do it all, Complete when at his best. This was a great game for MLSE to hang their hat on for promotional purposes. Tavares was missed, he has BEEN A DOG ON A BONE this year, better play from him than I expected. Nothing but TRY in his game. Their core defensemen are all over 30 and not fleet of foot. Goaltending, while Stolarz played terrific before injury, Woll has been great overall. As a Leafs fan since the late ‘50’s my heart BLEEDS BLUE AND WHITE. I can TASTE HOW MUCH I want this team to have postseason success. If they can WILL the playoff games they qualify for to play out like this game, they have a chance. We’ll see…

Love that he removed the game score from the titles, just watching the membership only podcast vid where he talks about changing it for that one guy who complained he ruined the game with the final score in the titles (if they missed watching the game). Great job Steve!

Weird opinion from being at this game: I didn’t think the leafs deserved to win. Thought they held the puck too much and were not really making Markstrom work while giving up big chances. Also not to mention the two OEL penalties leading to goals, gotta be more disciplined, especially on the first one where he argued with the ref. “I didn’t trip him, he walked into my stick.” But a win is a win and you get 2 points.

This is why Willy is the second best player on this team. He says things and backs it up. He is a true NHL top tier player. Makes sense cause he grew up in the game thanks to his dad.

Maybe you should let that comment go about "the real NHL" you know exactly what it meant and it was in no way a slight towards the Leafs.
leafs fans dont wanna hear it but, marner actually was bad for a lot of the game. being there in person the first 2 periods if he got the puck in the zone, he was constantly carrying it high and making a pass the defence knew was coming 5 seconds before he made it. mitch gets into areas he can only pass from & it leads to easy defence from the other team when you know where hes going & you know u can force him into those areas easily. at his best he can dish better than anyone but mcdavid but his puck carrying decisions really are a weakness. if i was a coach i would have video staff cut footage of everything he did that wasnt a good setup or move, and show him what the defence does because his cycle and carrying habits are so predictable. hell of a player but he can really elevate to become an all timer if he A. shoots 30% more and B. get pucks into the interior and pull defenders into his wake to force a collapse and open up the high end of the o zone. its difficult to carry into those areas (no shit) but he has handles and control abilities that would allow him to be successful when he does that more than often
