Apropos of nothing, but would a defensive pairing of 6'8" Louis Crevier and 6'6" Alex Vlasek be the tallest in NHL history? Vlasek is solid and signed long term, and Crevier (5th round) has stuck with the big club while other D men have been sent back down.
Just wondering…
I remember years ago. Expos in Montreal. Moises Allu rounds first base, stops to go back, his plant leg disintegrated. First,Second baseman, and Pitcher; cringe, cover their eyes.
Im surprised ugly injuries dont happen more in the nhl. Fast and strong men going hard. No touch icing certainly helped.
2/3 of the RedWood line back for Detroit
Every Jets defenceman was awful except BIG STANLEY 😉
Would anyone else be interested in a career video on Michael Peca?
Tell em Danny!
Thanks for the news.
I saw "Bonehead" instead of Bouchard on that whiteboard. 😀
This is about the time of year the Jets usually come back to earth and then people are surprised happens every time
Ready for blasphemy? The Islanders will be better without Dobson. He is soft and a terrible PP quarterback. Insert Cholowski and you haven't lost anything defensively. He also gets more pucks to the net. This guy was 20th overall in the 1st round and I like his game.
I don’t know why anyone would listen to Briere
Hooray for Zegras! And great news on Issac Lundestrom too: day to day. I’m so glad he’s not long term. He’s a great defensive forward and forechecker.
If I'm Comrie, I'm asking why the team hates me.
👍 On Ullmark's hopefull return.
"They [the strings] seem happy to see me today." Love the comic asides.
No, not Brown and Jones, spare me 🙁
Isles have definitely been snake bit with defensive injuries this season.Had 4 out at one point… getting healthy and back in.. then bam!, Dobson.
When you see someone crosscheck another player in the chops who's facing them, you almost always see the other player bringing their stick and gloves up first in a fake out move that triggers an instinctive reaction. You're still 100% responsible for your stick, but it's something you see almost every time. It's also used as an intimidation move that can backfire spectacularly and not everyone has the same kind of composure as Brock Boeser when a dirty player like Corey Perry was stopping just short of crosschecking him in the face after the whistle during the playoffs to try to get a reaction.
Congrats on 337k!
Thanks for the video! Great info, details, and insights! My second favorite Soderblom!
Need a wolf video!! Would be interested on your take.
The Avs have been playing ping pong with winning and losing, being the definition of inconsistency (they literally haven’t won or lost two in a row since the start of the month). So I guess they’re due for a win, but on the other hand Hellebuyck is riding that ridiculous personal shutout streak against the Avs…
Smarten up Jets. Nobody is good enough to float in this league. Remember your fans are among the lowest income in the NHL so you owe them your best effort every night.
7:11 "sorry I keep hitting these strings but they seem to be happy to see me today. "
Gold.
Dobson out = It's over for the Isles.
Coach Arniel is going to have to put some stronger rules in place if players are staying on the ice too long… (I know who he's talking about, and the intentions will be good but it doesn't help when they're out there too long and run out of energy). Also, our strongest defensive player left the game in the 1st period and that will always make a difference.. he polices the team in how to play defensively so it was a bit of "When the cat is away, the mice will play". Another thought is that the team was likely looking ahead at the game vs Avs and didn't focus enough on the game vs Utah, which is entirely possible too.
So.. my wishes are that coach Arnie is settled down by tomorrow's game and that our captain will be back as we desperately need him playing to win vs Avs.
You the man!
Arnie said he was embarrassed by the lack of effort from the team- and said it was on the players and himself. He rarely gets mad so hopefully calling their play shi**t will be a wake up call. Jets are not in a skid as they have lost few game in a row. But they are inconsistent and losing games to teams they should beat. This is a slightly different pattern than their usual post Xmas skid. Hopefully they can snap out of it.
I watched every game of the juniors and yes, they tried to force players into roles instead of playing to the strengths of who they had. That is the reason Parekh says he was cut, because he couldn't adapt his play to what they wanted in such a short trial period.
Arniel seeing what Bowness saw; an impressive first several months, followed by an internal “we’re going a different route” revolt that leads to an indifferent record the rest of the way.
When will the Jets finally realize that Stanley doesn't belong in the lineup! Too slow, too many penalties, too many poor passes, doesn't use his size …
San Jose picked up Duehr.
