I think they either trade pettersson or both. Not just a JT trade. if they trade miller only, pettersson may very well not be able to handle the negative shit from the fans and media if he plays poorly still. If he plays better, he will be labelled a pouting immature young man who dogged it and held the team hostage and he wont be able to handle that either. Honestly, i wonder if the only way forward for the org is to trade both, as JT clearly wants to play on the east coast
To put the blame equally on both players seems absolutely bizzare given the fact we know Miller took leave from the team after exploding at the coach. His self benching a few weeks ago. His absolutely pathetic defensive play.

This so called feud is on both players not just Miller like everyone is painting. JT Millers do not grow on trees. This is an 80 to 100 point center with size, physicality and making him difficult to play against. You know Canuck Nation a player you need to go deep in the playoffs. after all a cup win someday would be nice. We have been lead by Swedes better than Petty and couldn't get there. Time for a new approach. Plus you can trade Petty to the best offer as he has no trade restrictions this year. Miller controls his future whether here or elsewhere.
Pettersson is the problem. JT just exposed him but shouldn't have. Petey is so thin skinned and has such a fragile ego. He needs pampering. So talented but such a head case.

the WHOLE league (GMs and players) know that JT and Petey do not get along. this means that the entire trade negotiation process from day 1 is based on that information. What seems "explosive" to us as civilians are not news at all to those within the league. Yes Rutherford is the guy who decided to publicly confirm the depth of the rift, but that's also a way to let the other GMs know that he isn't going to let them lowball him just to save face for the organization. I'd say that's a masterful move from Rutherford.
I know how one or two bad apples can be so disruptive to the harmony of an entire organization. I have had to deal with that in spades. So Petterson was great until JT Miller arrived. One bad season after the covid vaxes. He got over that poison. But now we have a feud.
JT Miller was told to back off on Petterson. He ignored it. Can't control himself. How many previous teams has this happened with him? 2 others? Doesn't matter how talented he is, he is causing internal dysfunction. He has a good heart, but he can't control his negative emotions.
That is who they should trade. Elias will start new next year. I think that Elias has a lot of work to do in the off season.

It seems ridiculous to me that the Canucks would let anyone lowball on two top centers. How is this different than any team moving an asset? There are 31 other teams that should be in a bidding war for these guys.
The question is how does he get himself into this mess ? I would just give away Petterson. He’s the worst out of the two of them. Sell him for a puck and a 6 pack. Who cares. Take $12m cap off the books. Spend it on something else. And btw why is it that petterson is making more than miller. That’s probably what started the fued.

I understand people picking sides or throwing blame, but all of these things can be true. JT might be out of line at times, and it may have the effect of bringing the team down rather than firing them up at some moments. Plus Pettersson may be uncoachable, stubborn and underperforming. Plus Management may have miscalculated how bad the situation could get this year. Why does it need to be one single party at fault for everything?
Trade them both or sit both on the bench for an entire game. If they cant leave behind their personal issues acting like men and play for their crest they are of no use to this team.
