You’re technically not “shedding money”, you are actually increasing it to a degree. If you send out 2 players and only bring 1 back in, you have an empty roster spot to fill.
Even if that players brought up from Rochester for the rest of the season (like Ryan Johnson), that salary would need to be added on. Also depends on who they’d send to Vancouver.
If the season holds form, they should lose 3-0 to the 4th worst team in the NHL.
I’m so torn on what they should do in regards to this trade. Iv flip flopped back and forth on this and I’m at the point where I just don’t care anymore. Tough place to be at.

Wait a minute your giving up a top tier defenseman & a promising forward (Cozens) for a player who had better players around him. Stick with the plan, get better in off season in free agency ,
Lindy had this team, as it currently is 3 points out of first place back before Dahlin went down and the 13 game losing streak. Its the youngest team, and Lindy in his first year was almost completely out of ammo when Dahlin went down because they are thin They need defense badly. Their offensive guys are soft defensively a lot at times. They are going to be super thin without Byrum and Lukkonen is already stressed too much by the wide gaping holes in their defensive play at times and more often than not. Peterka and Kulich, Benson are growing. This team is actually in the top half of the entire league in scoring, which is crazy given their record.. 15th or 16th so they can already score enough goals to win. They need defense bad. And you're giving up Byrum, who limits goals (and can score) and Cozens who may become a 30+ goal scorer. Is it worth it? And Pettersson has personal grife with other reamates so youre talknig about a possible issues there. Id like to see an Episode on whats available in Rochester, and they ard going to get a decent draft pick this year probably also. Clifton and Kozak are your shot blockers BTW.
This group simply does not work together. Amassing picks and prospects has gotten us nowhere for a decade. Adams needs to make drastic changes, and that can start with Pettersson. He needs to get this deal done.
