Les flammes échangent Pelletier, Kuzmenko et les choix aux dépliants pour Farabee et Frost

Je pense que ce commerce a l’air bien pour Calgary, bien que je comprenne ce que Philly fait ici également. 1. Frost gone! Woohoo ! Bye bye , don't come back!
I'll never forget his mental breakdown where he skated past the puck and gave up a goal. Unforgivable.

  2. I’ll miss Farabee but he probably needed a change of scenery. I get moving out his cap hit tho.

  3. I love this trade for Calgary. Farabee and Frost are good players. Kuzmenko has tons of talent but he's flakey and a UFA

  4. No offense towards Pelletier, I think he's gonna give Philly great value. But am I the only one who thinks Philly got completely fleeced by the Flames here?

  5. Additional by subtraction. Farabee and Frost stink. And been stunk. Don’t care if they both go to the HOF. They weren’t productive

  6. Torts will break both of these players spirits and they will flounder and hate it in Philly. GM DB got some picks and that is about it.

  7. Sounds like the Flames got two guys who might be good fills on the 2nd & 3rd lines without risking too much. If it works out, the Flames are setting up a sound team structure from the bottom up. What they're going to have to find somewhere is a star player or two to produce points and that's not going to be easy unless they come up with a lucky Gaudreau-like pick in the later rounds. If it doesn't work out, they're not giving up much, so it's a good move.

  8. Flyers are clearly building a locker room first while they suck. Sounds like Pelletier is the sleeper here and I don't mean he's going to score a ton of points but you can see by Flames fans reactions. Frost and Farabee were fine and well liked but also their vibe was just (imo) holding things back a bit. They were the bros on the team and although humor and keeping things light is important, I think their stale play this year has just made everyone realize they arent here for the long haul.

I fully expect both to do really well in Calgary and will root for them but overall I still like the trade for the Flyers. I think Calgary makes out with the better players but moving on from Frost and Farabee is the first move to be clear we are sellers and actually rebuilding which is what we all needed from our management. Would have been nice to get a first round pick instead of the second but whatever. We are filling the locker room with pros and glue guys that actually bring something to the table. It's easy to moan about it because they don't put us anywhere near the edge but guys like Pelletier will provide tons of value to the overall team and will likely never cost a ton and be loyal to the organization. Those are the role players on cup teams…. now we just need about 3 star players somehow….

  9. I actually really like this deal for Philly. I have not liked that Farabee contract since day one. I think them unloading his contract is the biggest win of this entire deal. He is still young and can very much turn everything around though.

As for Calgary, I don't love it. I personally believe that Calgary needs star and super star power. They already have enough middle of the road players. So I feel as if this is redundant. I think that 2nd round pick and the cap flexibility beyond this year was more valuable than Frost and Farabee. But I would love for them to both excel and prove me wrong.

  10. Great to see the Flames get that power center in Frost. 5'11", 170 pounds. Hahahahaha. Classic Calgary.

  11. Good trade for Calgary. Kuzmenko is going to be continually benched and scratched by Tortorella. It's hard to figure out what Flyers' management is thinking with this one, unless they wanted to give Tortorella a new chew toy or have someone else to yell at more, to give Michkov a break.

  12. Flames got two guys that have absolutely no finish, one that is no longer the same player since his surgeries and is on the book for 3 more years at 5 mil. None can play physical hockey and are definitely not the type of player to succeed in the playoffs.

Flyers got two guys that will more than likely not even be on their roster next year and dumped salary starting next year.

Hope it works out for Frost and Farabee in Calgary and they produce, but from what flyers fans have seen in the past couple years it’s highly unlikely.

  13. As a flyers die hard I’m angry by the trade. My squad needs centers desperately even though Frost isn’t a 1C potential you should let him finish the season. He tends to do better in the back half of the year his value would only rise. Now you have Coots, and now you move Laughton back to Center, Cates and maybe Tony Richard stays with the big club until Poles get healthy.

  14. Not withstanding how the draft picks pan out. Calgary Flames won this trade to get that young centre and winger with some upside. Jakob Pelletier was worth trading for the upgrade given he quite hasn't caught on the team and Andrei Kuzmenko wasn't coming back anyway.

  15. This is typical Flyers. Trading top talent for bags of used pucks. Now Kuzmenko did have a near 40 goal season 2 years ago so maybe he can re-find that magic sort of like when Tippett for here. But trading 2 of your best players for a couple of maybes smells of Paul Holmgren meaning Briere does not have complete autonomy here. They are stacked in the draft this season with I believe 7 picks in the first 2 rounds but what this is telling me is that they're waving the white flag on this season. This is going to be the 5th consecutive season missing the playoffs something they haven't done since the pre-Lindros years and I don't see tis changing anytime soon. This franchise is in wet cement right now and can't get out of their own way.

  16. I sincerely hope Shannon's positivity and enthusiasm for Calgary's trade holds up better than when Huberdeau and Tkachuk were moved 😅. A very rare occurrence of his initial speculation not panning out. As a Flames fan I'm still not convinced they're a playoff team, especially with Wolf now heading into that 'wall' of more games played than ever before, but I have to give Conroy credit for showing some optimism.

  17. I still believe in Pelletier. And after Sutter, he may be ok with Torts and might get second-line duty for a while.

  18. Farabee is a fraud. Ever since his neck injury he’s been TERRIFIED of any contact. 29 points in his last 82 games. He’s just not a good player

  19. A dude with the last name of Frost playing for a team called the Flames is the kind of amusing Irony I live for
