Why does everyone compare Miller at his best to Petey at his worst? The sentiment seems to be “We traded Miller the hundred point player from last year instead of Petey who is stinking it up this year”. Same could be said the other way. “We kept Petey the hundred point center instead of the guy who constantly makes cross ice giveaways, lays off the gas in the defensive zone, and glides his way to line changes”.
You want glass half full? We traded a guy who was the only guy I could ever recall who had to take a step away from his team for attitude reasons. We’ll see how the team performs now without that poison in the dressing room.

Chill man. Now that JT is gone its possible that EP40 goes back to form to cushion the blow. We got Marcus Pettersson to help with the blue line. We got some cap space for FA this season too. No its not fun now, but there are many ways to improve. Think about it, we might get some great entertainment in the playoffs for a round or 2, then Rantannen might actually be on the FA market. For the Miller trade, I look at it like when Kesler asked out — it was known that there was only one destination (NYR/ ANA) so the return was always going to be limited (Chytil/ Mancini/ 1st — Bonino/ Sbisa/ 1st)

I dont mind this now. I was complaining at first after the JT trade but now I dont mind it. Was pretty much JT for Petterson. Getting rid of Vinny was good. Danton wasnt doing much.
If EP40 can now get on track and get back to what he was . Getting that dman helped. Miller wasnt scoring like last year anyway. So the Miller is gone and Canucks got a better blueline.
Oh and if EP40 doesnt get better, they can still trade him before July before his trade protection kicks in.

Miller wasnt 100 player this year and at his age, probably wouldnt make 100 points again. So to trade him to make defense better isnt bad. Canucks created cap space aswell to get more. Our D core is solid, but the forward lines look like a first line, 2 third lines, and a fourth. No one expected Miller to be as good as he was…so let's hope one of these other guys steps it up

$11.6 for a Selke candidate like Bergeron or Barkov makes sense. EP40 needs to start putting up Draisaitl like numbers right now and not shooting soup cans against the Sabers. Need him to put up 2 or 3 points vs Vegas or Winnipeg. If he doesn't this management team has set this franchise back a decade
I’m a pens fan. Going to really miss Dragon and DOC. DOC is one of the best forecheckers I’ve seen, and a great person. Check out his shorty against Boston last year – he can be an impact player. The Dragon is a fan favorite too here in pittsburgh, treat them well. Wishing them luck in Vancouver
