Fact is the trade was all about dumping Farabee contract…..Joel has went thru 20 game slides with like 2 pts over this season and last. For 5 M a year for 3 more years no thanks. And Frost is you will find out is bad in his own end and the most inconsistent player especially when he plays the top teams .He also disappears for LONG stretches.

No way. For Philly the like this trade. These 2 players were not producing. They get Kuzemko who can play with Mitchkov. Worst case it is cap dump. They also get Pelts who has potential and is young player. And a Bonus… a 2nd round pick. Some argue, that Philly won.

Believe me please, im not a flyers fan, but live in the area and see these guys over and over.. They seem wayyyyyy better than they're.. There ok at best… Especially Frost..
As a Flyers fan, if I would have found out that we got nothing at all back for Frost and Farabee I would not have even been mad. That's how worthless these two are when it comes to winning.
Calgary got the better side of the trade. Maybe the 2nd rounder this spring that Philly gets will turn out to be something. But for the meantime, it's a Philly salary dump & a swap of 2 young 1st round under-achievers for 2 of Calgary's veteran under-achievers on expiring contracts that probably won't re-sign anyway. At best they'll be 1/2 season rentals & then move on. Philly will continue to tank.
I'm a Flyers fan who is angry. We gave up two middle 6 players who are not old for a player on an expiring contract, a small winger who is unproven and without a high ceiling, and a 2nd round pick.

This trade is 2 teams taking players that were underperforming for their respective teams, and now they are all looking for fresh starts. Only time will tell if this was a win or loss as it pertains to both teams.
These players needed to go, we got rid of 2 bums for 2 other bums, the difference is that we get 2 draft picks and one is a second round pick. Great move Danny, now we got to keep this going, more bums to unload. Coaches must also go, whether it’s now or at the end of the season. You can’t have Torts and company at the helm, look what they’ve done in 3 years, nothing!!
This looks like a giant switch up of spare parts. Every player in this trade is an underachiever.
60 year Flyers fan here. Our GM is piling up assets. Frost is a 2nd line center on his best days, with great hands and vision. The problem is his lack of consistency. Farabee can be a 25 goal guy, but disappears for long stretches and not worth $5M/YR. They are average players. Flyers got back two players for 30 game tryouts. If they fit in, great. If not, good bye. This deal was a salary dump of Farabee’s $$$. The 2nd round pick gives the team seven picks in the Top 50 (approx), in a draft that’s been called a deep pool of talent. I love the big goalie Ravensbergen.
I’ve been a Flyers fan since the early 80’s, and the past decade has been the worst era in our history (even worse than missing the playoffs from 1990-94). Hextall and Fletcher tenures as GM with a combination of missed draft picks and bad contracts put this team at rock bottom.
This trade was all about Briere having flexibility. We got 2 expiring contracts so we essentially have 7 more million in cap space this summer (along with other expiring contracts that Briere traded for in the past 2 years). We got a 2nd round pick so we have three first round picks and four second picks on this draft.
So Briere succeeded in step 1 as he undid the damage from the previous GM’s. Step 2 is to hit on those draft picks and use that cap space wisely. We will see…..
Danny Briere will prove a lot of the fan base that it takes patience and some work to get where you’re going in this league. This move obviously shook up the penguins and rangers teams. 😳 i personally don’t think this was a bad move by the organization…… they already know who the want in the draft, have what’s it’s going to take to get another trade made and STILL have enough money and draft picks. 👌🤫🤫🤫 I see absolutely no way Torts is coaching this team by 2026 as they get younger and more talented. he’s just too hot headed and a bully coach!!!
Flyers fan here. Briere didnt "get fleeced" but he did take a loss on this trade, not by a lot, but it was a loss. Farabee and Frost are good, but they were supposed to be better than that. It was time to let them try a new home. Kuz could mesh well with Mich and the draft capital and freed cap make up the difference of what was lost.
