The Mac Effect is real.
I have to admit when I am wrong. I thought that macdermid was bad, and shouldnt play because he takes stupid penalties and is invisible. Yesterday showed what you have said all season, that I havent really seen until yesterday. He scared the opposition, and he makes everyone around him heavier. I think with an injured lineup, we should give him more minutes. I now see why he is here. When we play like a tough team, we win more games, I know that so we have to give him some more games.

I agree with you Ace, 2nd period was the period of the season so far! HEMV is finally back! Love seeing you sport the HEMV gear again, it’s been too long! January the month of horrors is finally over and we are slowing climbing back to our pre-January mode, I’m not going to say we are there yet but it’s moving in the right direction past 4 games. Sign me up for 3 out of 4 games anytime! LGD!!!

Utilize MacDermid the proper way and we go from there abused to the bully. Even though he didn’t get to drop um, the rest of the team responded to the physically and made the Flyers tuck their tails. Pussies.

Good example of how the problem is not the roster. They have a good roster specially when Mac is in. It is about the way they play and mental state they are in. Without Macdermid it is like a wolf pack without an Alfa. And by the way now there was a one timers

great game yesterday all around from everyone, defense was so solid nd we were all over the puck at all times nd they brought the pressure early. Allen had a great game too stopin everything, nd everyone was hitting nd the forcheck was on point, i hope they continue to go back to this way of playing every night. nd definitely gotta keep macdermid in the lineup he rubs of on everyone with the physicality in the offensive zone 100%, nd it shows when u play defense like that every night it leads to easier break outs nd overall offense, nd the offense was looking solid all night the cycled the puck perfectly. we have 4 games left until the 4 nations faceoff nd if we play solid defense nd were allover the puck like last night i wanna see us win atleast 3 outta the next 4 for sure!! lets go devils!!

That was a great game to go too the second I got their ( I got their 2nd period) they started to score like mad men these beautiful boys and I believe you forgot to mention how dougie saved a goal with his stick that was magnificent I knew that they can do it without Marky and the captain good to see this effort from them as I wasn't in full panic mode but after last philli showdown I was just a little bit good to see this game the way it was LETS GO DEVILS!!

Last night was a great game! That is the heavier edgier more violent Devils we need on the ice. That hit by Dillon definitely provided a momentum swing. Yeah I know some people are down on Palat. Palat is a clutch player. Remember his set up for the opening goal in Game 7 against the Rags? He outworked 2 Rags players, passed to McLeod, and need I say more? I was hoping MacDermid would pummel seeler, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Yeah we toned it down in the 3rd period, but I disagree with toning it down. When you are up by that much, the boys need to keep the pressure on to ensure a shutout. Let's hope the boys keep it up.

Huge win!! Physical hits!! Great win!! When the Devils play more physical, they are tough to beat.
I would love to see this team play with more of a physical edge and focus more on defense just like they did earlier in the year. When they played like that they were dominant and constricted opposing teams. Then all they had to do was be patient, let the offensive moments come to them, and then attack full-on. And look, if the opposing teams are playing weak or soft on a specific night, then the Devils can attack even more. They just need to be adaptive and use their size and physicality to create hesitation and opportunity. If they did that it wouldn't matter which goalie was in net.
As for this team needing more consistency at the start of games, as well as physicality from game to game, I couldn't agree more. However, this is the first year of Fitzy's "Heavier, Edgier, and more Violent" team. Last year we didn't have a real physical team. Fitzy made changes to the roster and they have been great on the physical and defensive side. No matter what happens this year, I believe the Devils will be even more effective next year. As more players see what can come from the physical part of the game as they play through this season, the more they'll buy in. The offense will always be there and be capable of dominating, and I think Keefe is the right coach to get the team going more often than not. Hell, who knows what kind of edgier bottom-6 guys could be added in the summer. Exciting times folks!!!
Just put MacDermid in every divisional game. Even if he doesn't produce, his impact will be more of an investment. On future games and buy the speedsters some space.
I’ll definitely give Allen this one as being a great game for him. He had some great saves and kept momentum on our side. (Though still want Marky back as 1A.) Do you think with Nico out, Fitz should be looking to see if he can get a good faceoff player, or is that an overreaction/overcorrection? Not like a top guy, but maybe someone good at faceoffs that might easily transition to another position in the lineup and add more depth when Nico returns.
Both Palat and Bastian each scored their first shorthanded goals of the season last night.
Labanc i think has been getting healthy scratched lately from CBJ. He looked good with NJ, might be a super cheap bottom 6 addition
Next game is tomorrow in Buffalo against the lame-ass Sabres, then the Devils head to Pittsburgh to face the Penguins, who have snatched Pettersson from the Canucks. Last home game before 4 Nations is on Thursday against Vegas and then it's back to Montreal to face the Canadiens again.
