As a Canucks fan I always find it interesting what take you have After the leafs play Vancouver, the Canucks team defensively has improved 10 fold since the JT miller trade with the addition of Marcus and (D) Elias pettersson most teams are having a hard time cracking them atm. I think in the last 3 games they’ve let in 2 goals so imo that’s pretty sound hockey and with the subtraction of miller from the lineup tocc has been playing Pk lines against top matchups in shut down situations. Makes it hard to generate anything when your best defensive players are matched up against pretty much a power play line, I thought the leafs were fine today. A lot better then a couple weeks ago

Nucks needed the W more than the Leafs and it showed, that to be expected I suppose at the end of a long road trip, if Leafs played, Oilers tonight instead of Van probably still be Leafs getting their first L of the road trip, I still prefer a win over Edmonton than Vancouver as Oilers are definitely a playoff team this year! Ps Hope Demko is ok, but man he’s like our Woll just can’t rely on him to be healthy! GLG! Make a trade go all in 1 or 2 pieces could make a huge difference, Pps is Domi here next year 🤔 🤷♂ Having a shocking season 🙄

I was at this game. Bad officiating. Vancouver’s level of interference and the setting of picks was ridiculous. That being said Toronto’s level of effort was insufficient. Vancouver beat them into the corners, won the puck battles. OEL needs sit a game or two so he can learn how to control his stick.

Something about Beers not being in that locker room now… And the stabilizing nature of MP3 on the blueline. It's practically a different Canucks team. Even without Hugs. Now they don't have a wannabe captain playing shadow captain, or whatever the hell Beers did with this team. I loved the guy, but he was unstable. I mean, christ, to the point where he had to step away from the team for a while this season. And now allegedly his wife has opened up about what was going on (with the team, I think – not personally). I'm not sure I even want to read it. Hugs must be relieved that he doesn't have to be everywhere, all at once. I wonder if he needed Beers to leave in order to officially call himself hurt?
I like to play a game with my wife where I scroll down Steve's recap videos and have her guess if the Leaf's won or lost that game. She guessed the Leaf's won this game because Steve was "smiling."

Question: how does the referee's voice sound so loud and clear at certain situations in a hockey game?
I can't hear any of the other hockey players' voices while they battle it out on the ice. But in certain cases where the ref needs to announce something like a confirmation or a disallowed goal, his voice is as loud and clear as day throughout the whole arena. So… is he shouting at the top of his lungs or is there some kind of hidden headset in his helmet?
