Ross, they are called quarters. the first quarter of the season!
After those last 3 games nobody deserves to be called MVP.
This may be harsh but I think Tim and Brady have been no where close to enough this year. You guys kinda said enough with Timmy with him trying to force passes, but I think that that’s a product of him not playing nearly fast enough. He’s not flying around the zone, finding plays like he did during his 90 point season. It’s a little lazy in my opinion, the waiting on the side wall and hoping somebody will find a sweet spot. He’s gotta work harder for his points and he has the tools to do so.
As for Brady, I know Pillzy defended him by saying he has more to offer than points, but 6 points in 17 games is frankly embarrassing. He makes low end top line money and that’s the production of a 3rd liner. You can’t be having that, regardless of what else a player has to offer.
Both those guys need to be way better and their slow seasons are why this team is struggling offensively
At least defence has been great!
I find it funny that the title says "Who is the Ottawa MPV" then in the thumbnail there's three actual MVP candidates and then theres Matinpalo😂😂
MVP can only go to Sanderson.
Without him, this team bottoms out.
Tkachuk is a borderline finalist for Sens MVP so far this season hes been super cold this last quarter of the season when the season is ramping up and games are becoming more important which is very concerning and too many nights when hes just invisible or a non factor he really needs to be more consistent night to night and if he doesnt have his A game play his B game like weve seen Timmy do when he isnt handling the puck the way he usually does. Not saying Brady's having a bad year either but down the stretch and if the Sens are to make the playoffs there will be nights where teams will shut you as an individual down and Brady needs to show hes capable of finding a way to fight through and come out on top as weve seen it too often this season where he losses his cool and struggles to get back to his game after this occurs
Definitely Rangers and Red Wings are the bigger threats rn but I dont see either passing the Sens as long as Norris and Pinto come back healthy once the break ends and they can remember how they were playing hockey before this past week. Columbus is still sneaky as they should be getting healthier as well. Sens control their destiny here so if they miss the playoffs its all on them and big changes will have to be made
Sanderson should definitely be ahead of Hanifin hes way better than him. Way better defensively and hes outproducing Hanifin by 12pts
My dad and I were at that Sens game against Boston when we got the shootout winner on January 18th! One of the best hockey games I have ever been too easily and that will be a game I can look back on and remember how awesome it was. Leevi is definitely my MVP he saved this team big time when Ullmark was injured and thanks to him he's a huge reason why the Sens sit in a wildcard spot right now. Can't wait to have all our injured players back especially Pinto and Norris again so we can start getting some more vibecasts! Keep up the great work Ross and Pillzy. LOSP rocks!
MVP: tough call as nobody on the roster has showed MVP consistency, but that said I’ll go with Captain Brady Tkachuk…my Dave game was the Shoot-out win versus the Bruins (Jan18/25)…GSG!
Mullet Man
im with Ross …Leevi saved the season and is the reason we are in the playoff race – we were on a 5 game skid when Ullmark went down and Forzy in net
Can't say I agree with Brady as MVP. Hard to put it on one player as Brady, Jimmy, Linus, Leevi, and Tommy Chabs have all been really good. It's gotta be Jake Sanderson for me though, he's been so dominant after a bit of a slow start
Sens MVP is easily the teams three goalies. After that – it’s Tim Stutzle, who leads the team in points and has a positive +- – after Timmy the MVP is Chabot / Jensen as a pair. Brady is far down near the bottom of the pile along with Norris who is underperforming drastically. Batherson is middle of the pack due to his cheap contract. Sanderson is rock bottom with one of the worst +- on the team. Perron can’t even be considered part of the team at this point.
After those three games play merilainen next
With all the "First Half of the Half" y'all missed the opportunity to just call this a 2nd intermission report — 56 is almost exactly 66% of the season. Would have been a lot easier just saying that Jake Sanderson played better in the 2nd period of the season than he did in the 1st! My MVP through the first two periods would be Shane Pinto precisely because of his impact on the team. And not just because of our record when Shane Pinto scores a point!
A huge part of why the sens goals against are down this year is because of how much the PK has improved; Shane's growth defensively is just so good, maybe only matched by Norris, in terms of forwards. He's had a massive goal scoring drought, but so has pretty much everyone on the team — this Green's system isn't easy. Maybe I'm doing a most improved as well, but I can imagine the sens winning a game they shouldn't if Tim or Brady was out — games where Pinto (or Norris) are out feel completely free. That may just be recency bias, lol, but he's my vote.
Top game is a tie between the Boston game or the Washington one. Boston had pretty much everything you want in a game, goals, emotion, drama, stakes, rivalry… and the Washington one had pretty much all the same with the added sauce of hanging with the best and TWO short handed goals. On the same powerplay! The finish by Chabs on his birthday?!? If it was against a team we had a history with, like Florida, then it would be an easy winner but that Boston game… Scorris getting the 2nd goal after Sanderson stopped two empty netters… it made me believe in the team. Anything is possible.
If Matipalo cracks the Finlad roster but is a healthy scratch here, does that mean the Sens have deeper defensive depth than team Finland?
