Total brainfart… Beanpot WAS yesterday… Our bad lol. Fowler lost in that one. That was the 37/40 save game. oops
Laine is a "streaky player" is glass half full talk for "he doesn't have a winner's mentality". Same old things that got him driven out of two franchises despite his incredible tool kit. Riddle me this Laine apologists: How do you win a Cup, which requires two months of sustained maximum exertion from everyone, with a guy who disappears without rhyme or reason?
hes playing with dack and newhook
I love Payrick, when he makes an effort. The hardest thing to do in the NHL, is score goals and to him it comes easy. This ability has been intoxicating for several Coaches and GMs but…they eventually lose patience with his lack of effort. When motivated, I've seen him skate, get very physical and defend but it's not very often. Once the trust is l9st, it's hard to get it back. Marty was very talented with a passion that could lift a Team. He may have had enough of Laine in a Habs uni. You get between 14 to 20 minutes a game…tell me you can't leave it on the ice. And for part of those minutes you are coasting. How can a Coach give Patrick a pass and discipline others for the same thing. It's too bad by because he had every Hab fan in the palm of his hand.
They should try pp zone entries with Laine on his natural side (right) and switch over if needed. He's marked anyway
I would love to see evans in montreal for another 5 years.
With speculation that Matheson could get moved from our abundance of LHD that opens an "A" – maybe they extend Evans at a discount and in return he is offered an A as an established veteran to the team during his next contract
We make too many excuses for Patrik Laine. He is a professional and paid more in 1 year than I will make in my lifetime. He must pick up his game, engage more in the play and use his strengths. If he cannot improve his attitude, he will be out of a job
Armia + Evans in a package to LA to fill their 4th line and try to shut down McDavid freeing Kopitar up. They've been eliminated by Edmonton 3 times in a row in the playoffs. NO picks back (unless it's a first). Prospect(s) please.
5 years 15 million with the next 2 years at 4 mill and the final 3 years of the deal 2.33 million . And then Evans gets his term . And can then cement a Guy Carbeneau like career legacy playing for the Canadiens.
Laine hasn't scored a goal in over 10 games….gotta take the bad with the good. Rumours with Evans….most are likely total bs anyway. Would guess using Riley Greig and Thomas Novak for references, but those two do not have that great of a faceoff % as Evans. Then there's Phillip Danault who the Habs lost to free agency….Danault has even a higher faceoff % and more consistent point production than Evans.
Play Laine on the first line
Cant listen to Elliott Friedman or Darren Dreger
Laine scored 9 power play goals from the exact same location. We all knew that wouldn’t last when other teams would finally take that away and force the other Habs to score on the power play. Sadly, the other Habs can’t score on the power play so it allows teams to neutralize Laine. The problem isn’t Laine. It’s the lack of secondary scoring on the power play to allow him to be open that is a bigger part of the issue. When a team is willing to break away from their defensive assignments to cover one person and you can’t take advantage of it, it says a lot. Having said that, Laine also needs to increase his effort without the puck. He often seems uninvolved in the play and it can lead to scoring chances for the other team. Hopefully this break helps him and the team figure stuff out.
Use your brain , Fowler isn’t giving up his education so he can go play 20 games into an already crowded AHL🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
I saw a meme about Laine saying that he's got no goals since the new season of Fortnite came out. It hurt….But it was still funny.
Keeping Jake is a very good move for Mtl , he gives his all .
Holy cow! Josh looks like Fowler as well…
I'm not worried about Laine. Yes, he's always been a streaky scorer. Kinda like how Max Pacioretty (and if you can remember far enough back) Michael Ryder and Stephane Richer and Steve Shutt were. Laine will be fine. What worries me is NOT guys like Laine who struggle to find consistency…it's players like Dach and Newhook who are very consistent…but consistently awful !
Maybe the best thing I've heard from the Habs rumour mill in the past month is the thought that we might be seriously worling on signing Evans. Armia is hopefully next in that discussion. If Armia does what he's capable of at the 4 Nations Cup, we'll regret not re-signing him when we could have done for much cheaper.
Jake is a 4th liner…stop falling in love with them….soon to be 29 years old….time when we are ready to win he be 35
We Finnish fans are here alright!
Not only is Laine streaky he hasn't played for what a year and a half. the last 4 weeks were brutal schedule wise. The entire team was bushed by the end.
Trade Liane please.
Interesting how, for years, journalists and hockey analysts told us that Evans would be nothing more than a 13th forward or, at best, a 4C on a contender. Yet now, some fans of these contending teams are saying, 'He'd fit right in as our 3rd-line centre.' Maybe it's time we showed more respect for our own players.
To be honest, knee injuries take a long time to recover. Laine is not in game shape because of his knee and anterior injuries. The cardio and the skating are not there a 100% yet. Give him some time and also a break because it’s so easy to blame him for his past. I think he is trying to be true to himself and everyone else.
playing hockey in montreal must be very shameful, especially with cheap level mrons like louis on the board
