  1. I'm honestly indifferent to this. Is it a terrible take? Sure, absolutely. But it's no worse than the bad mock trades I see on Reddit or other sites.

  2. Trading Larks might be up there with the Luca-Davis trade as one of the worst decisions of all time. It won't happen, but unless its for something CRAZY like McJesus AND Draisaitl, I might become an Avs fan in protest.

  3. You’re exactly right the problem with this article is the time it’s posted. If this was posted before McClellan got here in December when we are terrible, I’d understand if we don’t make the playoffs this year and in this off-season someone posted it I’d understand but that sort of negativity and gloom when the team is doing well, it’s just not needed right now

  4. Let's not say Carlos is a reporter and certainly not one for the Wings – he's not qualified for either. He's continuously been terrible and it's embarrassing that the Free Press continues to employ him.

  5. okay lego……so if larkin wont leave detroit because larkins a michigan guy……and he grew up a red wings fan, fair.

but then you gotta apply it to a different situation……marner being a FA this summer. We can apply the same logic. Marner was born and raised in toronto……he grew up a leafs fan. so that means hes staying, right? just using the same logic you're applying with larkin here. So that means theres no need for you to post ''marner trade'' videos because they wont happen. JUUUUUUUUUUUST SAYIN.

for those unaware…..yes they would have cap to resign him. Also, the nhl announced the cap for the next 3 seasons. Next year 98m, then 108, then finally 113. i'm not a leafs fan im js.

  6. I dont think its tone deaf, i think its a guy who kind of has a point and knows exactly when to write an inflammatory article to get clicks

  7. yeah F THAT – while I want a cup for Larks, I want it to be with Detroit….. trade our Capitan?! Best player?! Heart and soul of the team????? GTFOH

  8. No surprise that Carlos Monarrez said this. The guy is a no talent hack, and an embarrassment of a writer. He's been dead wrong on virtually every hot take on every team in Detroit. Stevie Y don't take advice from an idiot who was all aboard the the Matt Patricia train and the loved the Matt Millen era with the Lions.
How this guy still has a job at the free press is beyond me. Maybe we can trade Carlos for a used bag of pucks. It'd be more useful than having to see his name on any more sports articles.

  9. The writer is trying to get hate and get clicks at this point. This recks of desperation by the writer.

  10. Free Press has been an absolute dumpster fire for a while now. Wouldn't take any of that seriously

  11. nah man, he's not going anywhere – I wish this stuff wasn't so baitey; I appreciate the love for RW though

  12. Yzerman started at 18 and didn’t win his 1st Cup until he was 32 and went on to win 2 more. Ironically if anyone understands, it’s Yzerman.

  13. I don’t even have to watch the video to know how stupid this is. Larkin was born to be a wing and will be for a long time

  14. Looks like the deleted the tweet.
200k views and 19 likes might be some sort of record.

  15. yea carlos is not a reporter. he is a columnist who tries to get the most rise and clickbaits. fortunately most of his stuff is behind a paywall so he is easy to ignore. i man maybe if this wa fromm the freep hockey beat writer. But not this guy.

  16. I know everything is slow because of the 4 Nations – but these writers are definitely reaching right now! Larkin is going NOWHERE!

  17. Stevie Y did not bring home te cup for 13 years. What would have happened had they traded him because ‘he didn’t win the cup’. I guarantee you – ZERO cups!

  18. That title scared me for a second. I thought it was talking about a trade that already happened.

  19. Tone deaf is the best way to describe that article. I think they meant to publish this during the first two months of the season lmao

  20. People said the same thing about Yzerman back in the day. Now, Larkin isn't on Yzerman's level let me get that straight… HOWEVER… you dont just get rid of the diesel engine that runs your team without cause. He's been a good leader. This city and team is behind him… he's not going anywhere.
