It was kinda fun watching you guys root for the other team for a change, but let's get back to our wings. Hats off to the states for a killer team. It shouldn't be slept on that the USA is the only other nation to play a gritty, skillful, aggressive, distinctly North American style like us. No other team I want to see succeed aside from Canada than the USA.
It was the only time i was glad the US didnt win and was routing against for the other team. I was very conflicted, because i wanted Larkin to shine. Trump made the game bigger than it was, which is good for optics of the NHL. But he never shut his mouth about it. We also found a bunch of players who were Trump supporters, which is a negative.
Not just that, the US coaches still underplayed Larkin after having a good game, probably a biased take though.
The USA (Sullivan) used Jack Eichel to effect against aganst McDavid for most of the game. They switched Mathews in for Eichel. which got us a goal from Brady Tkachuk in the 2nd period. To me, being a Wing's Fans I think he's a punk, Sullivan was using last change most of the night to keep Eichel on McDavid. In the OT I saw McDavid spin and fire at the net. Ahh, it's in the net! Eichel is nowhere to be seen. Coincidence?? Who knows?
Scotty, MLB used to have meaningful All-Star games every single year. Both sides always tried to win and the NL always did. You're just too young to remember back that far. It the 1960's and throughout the 1970's. I unfortunately am not! You like modern babeball for some reason thaI don't understand. Since about 2015 with all of the stupid rule changes I'm so bored with basball I find my once favorite sport, boring beyond belief. 10 pitchers in every game overshifting that got so ridiculous that they had to the change the rules to stop it. Can't break up a double play or slide into the catcher. I've seen better T-Ball games.

It's pretty wild for folks to be like "Hey, Four Nations was a roaring success! Let'[insert change here]!" No. Not saying it should always be US, CAN, SWE, and FIN… but it needs to stay Four nations.
Larkin showed himself in this tourney against the best players in the world. He shined amongst his teammates as well as all the competition, no question.
As a Wings fan I also gained respect for JT Miller, Brady T and Jack Eichel. I also noticed that "the great" JACK HUGHES was worthless, he was consistently pushed off the puck and did nothing when he had it, at the end of the game he was skating with the 4 line, where he belonged.
