  1. But for real I hope ville has a good rest of the season…just don't play well against us.

  2. With the trade deadline looming
Need a veteran LH defender to pair with Seider, a PK specialist, and more 5 v. 5 offense help
Would not rule out a package deal with possibly a prospect(s).

  3. Hey, at least it gives husso a… Better(?) chance to play in the NHL more this year? Idk

  4. The Duck's needed goalie depth. The Wings have Cossa in GR. Plus Jack Campbell on the roster. Ville may play better in the Duck's organization. No pressure on Ville, may get better results, out west.

  5. This sets up Anaheim to trade Gibson at trade deadline. It also sets up Detroit to be buyers at trade deadline if in that position. Win win. Obviously Husso sucks, but Verbeek will have an almost NHL level goaltender after trading Gibson. Then he will explore free agency.

  6. The Red Wings have their own #1 draft picks for the next three seasons. They can afford to trade a draft pick for a 3 or 4 million dollar player. Beef up the Red Wings defensive play.

  7. Stevie always makes these moves in bunches. Keep a close eye on amount of salary he's freeing up to see who the targets are. I see tarensenko being moved for a similar deal to new jersey soon as well.

  8. Yzerman signed or agreed to pay Husso that $ value contract ??? So if it was such a good thing getting rid of the size of the contract, it was Yzerman who agreed to pay??? Sounds like a BUST for Yzerman and didn't understand value of dollars.

  9. Great move to dump cap by Stevie Y. Now do something with it and upgrade tarasenko for someone better

  10. Need a solid top 4 D man with offensive/defensive abilities and plays with more grit than any other player on our roster OR (top 6 power forward). the wings “depth” is nice…but we need another piece or two. THE BEST surprised for the red wings this year are the younger guys who have ALL made very apparent leaps in their play (pretty rare IMO)

  11. Wow this is actually a huge win for Detroit. Finally Husso's dead weight is gone. I was rooting for him but he just let in softie after softie. I don't want to see Lyon go either but we will see what the summer brings. Gotta remember that sure Talbot has another year but he's already 37. I think a trio of Talbot, Lyon and Cossa would be sweet next year

  12. Ducks could take on just under 5mil in cap for rest of season the wings now have cap space for deadline

  13. Prob grand rapids to san deigo in the middle of the winter is pretty nice for him

  14. Need a solidified 2nd line centermen! Now that it's looking like Copp is LTIR and Ras going to have to heal up from a concussion which really doesn't have a timeline for return.

  15. We just need to start bringing up cossa. Talbot can be a good mentor for him. Like kane &larkin have been for our other young guys this season.

  16. One of those very rare stinker loses under Todd was a Husso game where he provided less stopping power than an unattended toll booth. Oh well.

  17. It wasn’t long ago I thought they’d struggle against 1-2 tandem of Nadelkovich and Husso would be among the best duos in the NHL. In hindsight, I may have misjudged that a little bit.
