Might make a video on this soon but I checked out the Canucks game, Pettersson seems like he's still the best forward on the Canucks. The team can't generate any offense as a whole when Hughes is out of the lineup, they're 31st in the NHL in xGF/60 since November 15th via Harman Dayal from the Athletic.
Give him a year, the Canucks aren't doing anything this season anyways. They traded Miller, signed Lankinen, and have a great defensive core for the next 3 seasons… it's just how this season has to go.
Pettersson is bad. Trade him
you have to trade him before the NMC kicks in – otherwise options like Columbus and Buffalo come off the table. Any contender seeing that sees a 11.6M boat anchor of a contract
It’s not even puck luck where you know it’ll turn around. You see EP40 on the ice and he’s a pylon. There might be one shift of real effort every 2 or 3 games.

there's nothing wrong with pettersson that a new area code won't fix. he refuses to consider any advice from the sedins. he sits by himself in the dressing room and doesn't talk to anybody except hoglander and imo he won't bleed for the canucks anymore.
He hasn't been the same since Kuzmenko was traded. It's all in his head and he can't pull himself out.

I don't see Cbus being into Petterson. Buffalo makes a ton of sense, they need a shake up. Columbus needs some roster stability for a year or two.

He might be a good player but he's a soft soul.
Harder to 'think positive' on this one as time goes on. He could return to success, but after a year of this that's less and less likely as time goes on. If he doesn't, we either trade him at a depressed value (and potentially watch him shine somewhere else, and meanwhile weaken the team further) or keep him, he continues to do poorly, and Vancouver's potential for success as a team stalls (with so much $ tied up in one person and the ongoing drama around it).

7:13 Pettersson is the 5th highest paid PLAYER (not just forwards) and is only $40,000 short of being tied for 4th with Panarin.
He was injured last year . Early February. They played him to the end of the playoffs even tho he was getting worse and worse. They said he wasn't hurt then admitted he was after the end of the playoffs. They are doing the same thing now. No one seems to be asking management why they played an injured player for 4 months.
He's getting worse and worse and they keep playing him. Jt Miller was given a leave of absence. Why not do the same for Ep40?
I've been saying for the last 2 years now, they need a sports psychologist for the team. If they had one jt probably doesn't get traded. Peterson probably doesn't drop under 100 points.
Why would Pettersson not be happy?. Canucks only drafted him, put him on the top line, gave him all the chances to succeed, traded Miller instead of him, and paid him $11.6 mil. If any player isn't happy with all that, trade them or buy them out and just get rid of him.

I agree with Brough. I think Petey is suffering from the yips. It’s a real thing and it’s not just a snap out of it proposition. I’ll take it a step further; I think he got the yips at last year’s all star game. It all changed after that. This is more than a mental block. Calling thd yips a mental block is like calling a tsunami, over flowing water.

Have any of you guys actually watched the recent games? He got points vs Utah, Nashville, and Dallas. Would have gotten 2 points in Detroit if Boeser could actually bury one. Could have gotten 2 points vs Toronto if his snipe that beat Woll but not the post, went in.
Hronek's goal was all Petey. Petey steals the puck, Leafs get it back. Petey steals it again and threads the needle with Hronek, who buries it. Toronto was his best game.
