  1. Rantanen’s rental value hasn’t dropped. He’s got retention from Chicago. As a rental his value has increased. Cap matters at the deadline. This is a 9m guy most contenders couldn’t afford now sub 5m cap and they can retain him down to around 3m.

  2. Unlikely take, but Bouchard to Anaheim, Zegras, Gibson and change goes back to Edmonton

  3. Brayden Schenn isn't going to the kings even if I wanted it to happen. He was frustrated that the org didn't make him an nhler earlier in his career. He would drag his feet if he came back.

  4. I don’t understand why the wild are never talked about. Like not only could they be big buyers at the deadline with their cap and prospects but also next year idk why everybody is already set on the blackhawks signing marner and rantanen when the wild have so much money coming from the parise/suter contracts.

  5. I would wager that the PWHL doesn't want visors for the cost of dental going up so much yet. A lot of players get artificial teeth at the end of the season in the NHL, I think. Even more so right before the end of their careers when they don't have to worry about it anymore. I would bet that as the revenue gets there, the league will consider allowing visors.

I take the risk and wear a visor as an adult, because my vision is better, I breathe better, and honestly I've been not only pretty good about protecting my mouth, but the visor has proven sufficient to protect my face.

  6. I say if that if the NHL allows fighting so should the PWHL. That's one of those rules that if one league can/can't the other can/can't.

  7. Tell me you don’t know much about the ducks without telling me:

    Anaheim should get another D?
Bruh, we are sitting a young dman each night that could use the minutes cus we have too many DMen.

We have veterans in Gudas,Trouba and Duomolin to bring up the ducklings. I think a Zegras trade has to be for another struggling young forward. Ex would have been Z for Kakko.

I’d rather not trade Z before allowing another coach to let him loose and be creative, but I understand that may not be likely.

  8. My bold trade deadline prediction is that the entire podcast universe will make exactly zero trade predictions involving the far-and-away best team in the Eastern Conference Washington Capitals and then they will end up pulling off one of the low-key savviest second-tier moves of the day.

  9. is it crazy of me to think of seth jones to buffalo for dylan cozens? sabres need a right hand defencemen to play with dahlin or power.

  10. If there's one thing this season is showing me, it's that WE NEED A PLAY-IN WILDCARD ROUND LIKE DURING COVID for the playoffs!!! Look at how close the standings are

  11. Another year another deluded Jesse who thinks Winnipeg stands a chance of being a cup contender lol

  12. Speaking of the Olympics, does Nick Suzuki get a look for team Canada? Most analysts on TSN think he should have been there over Jarvis

  13. Question for Jesse because he is a Jets fan, should he go all in at the trade deadline? To me as a jets fan it doesn’t seem right. We try the same thing every year and they always leave and we have to give up something I think we should keep everything the way it is. Why change it

  14. To Buffalo: Noah Dobson and Mathew Barzal

To Islanders: Dylan Cozens, Owen Power, and a top 3 protected 2025 1st

  15. Has Kyle Dubas made any bad trade deadline deals yet? Which is the same question as, did he make any trade deadline deals yet?
