if the Leafs traded Cowan, Minten or that 1st round pick for an overrated player like either of the Schenn brothers, it would be a huge mistake they'll feel for the next 10-12 seasons.
I want all those guys in Montreal! Not winning is hell for fans, reality sucks, the league has 32 teams so a long term strategy is better. Pasternak, Shesterkin etc, deals will strangle the team but even the perception of trying helps. Bring in the big guys in an effort to win. Montreal gives an ELC then an 8 year contract to age 30. They make their money young and can be traded or do a 'team friendly' deal. Older players make less, that's the reality. I want an NHL EU league, selling 8 NA teams plus new franchises. 2 Stanley cups, then a World Cup to top it off. Fans watch sports they play & love thx
