  1. “Generational” for them. Yes. We get nothing.

Sweeney will give us some L picks, like usual.

Frederic is the only player of value in this. Only one that will exist in this. Wanner is going to be a career AHLer. Picks will be foreigners who stay foreigners.

Bruins are an inferior team for getting rid of Freddy.

Let’s not forget. This is the same channel that was demanding Johnson be signed, immediately. That he would be a massive boon for the Bruins offense.

Common Bruins L, Average Digest L take.

Freddy wins the cup. Calling it now. I’m getting his Jersey.

  2. It just proves another draft bust Sweeney picked, he should be fired ASAP. Screwed up in 2015 also .

  3. Love Freddy hate that he’s has such an off year, he will be great there and I love the oilers too so not that bad ig lol, do u think we trade for a few middle aged guys tho, like current players in the nhl, so basically like swapping, idk I just don’t think we should completely blow it up

  4. Sweeney needs to go, he is horrible at building at team , his draft choices proof it, Jacob’s plz fire him

  5. I’ll miss Freddy! Not the greatest year this year but many variables the way team is built this year…Good luck Freddy hope someone jumps up into your place!

  6. Trent Frederic needs to play with better players….he wasn't doing that in Boston this year…he's not a line-driver but, he's a sneaky scorer who benefits from better players around him! I wish him well in Edmonton! We fleeced Edmonton in this deal and we shed 4+ million in contracts….my guess is that Brandon Carlo and Justin Brazeau are next….maybe Charlie Coyle or Elias Lindholm too!

  7. White flag is going up pole, what about firing Sweeny the Weenie…..the guy that gave us the DeShaun Swayman deal. More trades coming and we can all go to the Garden and watch the ice follies. Good Night!

  8. Boston Bruins

    Grade: A-

Once GM Don Sweeney made it clear that Brad Marchand would potentially be the only pending unrestricted free agent the team would negotiate with before the trade deadline, Frederic might as well have started packing his bags.

Even if Boston was in a playoff spot, it might have traded this pending UFA anyway for future assets. The $1.15 million they retained on Frederic is their first retention spot used this season. Hey, it's not like they're going to be adding.

That second-rounder they received should be upper-to-middle-range in the draft, given where the Blues are in the standings. Boston didn't have one of its own this season after trading it to Washington in 2023 in the Dmitry Orlov swap.

Wanner is a 21-year-old, right-shooting defenseman who spent the past two seasons with the AHL Bakersfield Condors. He was buried on the Oilers' depth chart, having struggled through a season that saw him miss time due to injury. Not a bad prospect for the Bruins to get into their pipeline.

The Bruins also found a taker for the last year of that Jones contract ($1 million), which is a plus even though he was a minus in his seven games in Boston.

  9. TF was a low carry in cap space and probably could have been resigned at a discount based on this year’s performance. He had an off season but will likely have a long career in the NHL and is a proven NHL level talent. Bruins management seems to lack the basic understanding that you want to exchange overvalued assets for undervalued assets not undervalued assets for pipe dreams. The likely outcome is that TF has better seasons to come and none of these prospects work out for Bruins. Sorry to rain on your parade but someone has to inject some realism here.
