I am going to point out that this is now the 3rd time in the last 2 years where the team gets into a playoff spot, then kane gets back into the roster and we fall out again. We have yet to actually jump into a playoff spot with kane in the lineup, and have yet to maintain a spot for more than a few weeks with him in the lineup. We won't get back into a spot unless he goes down again watch.
Trade the whole team. Fire Yzerman. All of it. Start from scratch.

Edit: obviously I’m being dramatic, but lose twice against that stupid Ohio team and then lose at home again against a very beatable Utah team.

Another failed season. This is two seasons in a row I've wondered who to follow more, the Wings or the Pistons. This is two seasons in a row I chose the Pistons. Gave up on the Wings years ago and followed the Bolts and Panthers. Sorry, Detroit, I may live 4 and 1/2 miles from the LCA, but you're not worth the time. So what's Stevie to do? It's not like his draft picks have managed to make the playoffs. SELL! SELL! SELL! Tear down these walls. The Wings are a fraud.

Our play making skills has been thrown out the window. That 4 nations break was brutal for the Red Wings. We have top guys that cant put the puck in the net. We aren’t playing like we have in both 7 game winning streaks.

Trading away Christian Fischer, one of the relatively few Red Wings players with any real grit, was straight out stupid.
Dylan Larkin is now back to the standard monotone delivery, empty cliches, and focusless stares, that are pretty much his uninspiring stock-in-trade at this time of the season. A nice player, scores some goals, generally pacy but likely not now as quick as he used to be, YET not, I'm afraid, REAL captain material ar all. Seriously where is his leadership a lot of the time, where is his evolution both on and off ice🤔🙄? Sigh.
If you can't beat a team like Utah, at home, at this point in the season, then you really do NOT belong in the playoff places (or in conversations about the same).

Who are the leaders on this team? Who gets them fired up when needed or helps loosen things up when needed? Larkin looks more like the team's social director than someone you follow into battle. Will he try and motivate his team, or just plan the next golf outing? Locker room leadership is the Red Wings' number one need.
Christian Fischer was not the right player to put on waivers at all. A player who hasn't been playing well enough to trade for another player at the deadline is the correct move. One of the defensemen or Tarasenko were the only correct choices.
Need a superstar or you might as well trade Larkin for a haul

these 2 are together on the dais but NOT together on the ice and THAT is why the team is missing the playoffs for the 2nd straight year when they would have made the playoffs w the Larkin Kane DeBrincat top line both times.
Dylan Larkin at 5v5 the past 2 seasons has a 68% goals for % (meaning goals for vs goals against) when he's out there w Kane, and when he's not out there w Kane he's got a 41% goals for %. That is your top line center, star player, your 1C. And when he's not out there w this particular other player, his line gets outscored 6-4 every 10 goals that are scored. And guess what? He's virtually NEVER out there w Kane this year. Only 6 starts together.
And that's why they will be home again in April May and beyond. Kane and Cat post dominant analytics but their line gets OUTSCORED, JT Compher besides breaking the scoring chances is also horrible defensively this year. People want to say Kane is a defensive liability, no, he's himself, same as ever, same as last year. Compher is supposed to plugging holes on that line and carrying his weight w defense and he's not doing it. So he's doing nothing for them either way. A nightmare of personnel mismanagement.
