To Connor, the City of Chicago, the Fans, and the Gatekeepers of the Game
Connor,
You are not just a player — you are a generational talent, a once-in-a-lifetime force on the ice, and someone who already carries the hopes of a city that knows greatness when it sees it. But with that spotlight comes noise — the chatter, the criticism, the endless opinions from people who have never walked in your skates or carried the weight you do at such a young age.
To the fans of Chicago, the ones who bleed for this team, I ask you to remember why you fell in love with this game in the first place. It wasn’t for the clicks, the takes, or the narratives controlled by those on the outside looking in — it was for the beauty of hockey, for the moments that leave us breathless, and for the players who inspire us to believe in something bigger than ourselves. Connor is one of those players.
To the gatekeepers — the media voices, the talking heads, and even some within the organization — I challenge you to shift your focus. Stop feeding the negativity and counting every missed point. Sophomore slump, but I'm not worried.. Just keep woking hard and the results will follow. Hopefully the line juggling settles down next season and he's playing with a top player who compliments his style.

His face offs are improving that’s evident but wondering if he’s focusing slightly less right now on the offensive side of the puck while trying to improve his defensive play and faceoffs. If so, I’m fine with that for this year as we don’t necessarily “need” wins down the stretch but we do need him to develop into a two way player long term if he’ll be our #1 center. He’ll get there offensively. many others like Mackinnon and kucherov didn’t come into the league lighting it up from a points standpoint either and Bedard has already shown when the mojo is flowing he’s a force. I think the rest of the year he needs to just continue to try and find ways to get open to use his shot, go in himself to get the puck when necessary, and really just commit to working towards more shots on net and continuing to improve with defensive play and faceoffs. Then a summer of training working on speed, agility, and endurance. He’ll be fine. He has the work ethic and desire. I’d be surprised if his point totals don’t start to increase by a decent clip in these next 2-3 years as he enters his 20’s and the Hawks start to form a competitive roster

He’s not even touching the puck, no shots on goal. Needs to hit the weights, maybe he can grow a little as well. Being 5”8 170 doesn’t make it easy. He needs to improve his speed through the neutral zone as well. He’ll get it, he’s still a kid with talent. Go Hawks. ✌️
