What a joke at this trade deadline for the Canucks! This management has problems. And guess what? Now to prove a point, they are going to WAY overpay Boeser to that long contract to keep him. Can't just let Boeser walk for nothing now right? Have to cover up their incompetent right? $8m x 8 years here we go!
Maybe our management simply sucks at negotiation. So they can't even get a 2nd round pick for Boeser or Suter. As much as I like EP40, now I wonder if we could have gotten him for cheaper than $11.6m if only our management is better at negotiating.
And even if they wanted to overpay Boeser, STILL could have just get some picks and prospects now, and just resign Boeser in the off season as Free Agent.

I mean, it's got to be hard to move a UFA that has 1) turned down a 5x$8 deal already that (imo) was a bit of an over pay. 2) Has 4 goals and 12 points (and a -13) in his last 25 games. 3) Has back, concussion and blood clot issues.

Suter was a bit of a surprise. But then again, if the Canucks weren't looking for picks what were they looking for? Another 2 or 3 C? How is that deal ever even going to work for either side?

Absolutely horrible day for the canucks. Asset management is attrocious. I'm also curious, when Allvin says nothing was offered for our guys, how much of that was: we're pushing for the playoffs and no team was willing to give up active roster players? I wonder if there were draft and futures trades available that we didn't take because we're shooting to be a first round playoff exit

Brock does not have much battle to change the game. Other players are difference makers. On the right team Brock can score but he is soft and fairly one dimensional. If there was more to his game would make him more valuable. He is playing not to bad and is using his size more. We keep him and sign him he better improve fast. He has not earned his paycheck yet and one good year should not get you super star money like Petey got. He is not a super star. And I have a bad feeling Allvin and company are going to over pay Brock with term. Petey is going to feel what Meyers felt for several years. Under appreciated because he was way over paid and under achieving. Chaos. His heart is flat lining all the time. He is a better play off performer.
