Getting Carlo looks like the big gain for the Leafs; less sure about How about Laughton… When Max Pacioretty returns (if he does), he could centers Nylander and Robertson…

interesting but numbers don't always drive success first it's beniot over myers second no way do you play domi with mathews again and third where's pontas i believe he slots in before robertson lots of interesting decisions to make here lets see what berube does great vids haven't seen you around much post more plz
Carlo was literally the top of my wish list. You sold me big time on Pageau. Ticked all the boxes. Hopefully Domi turns into playoff Domi and is good enough that we can slide Laughton to the wing

carlo and laughton for 2 1sts and 2 B level prospects is a steep price, given that the leafs dont have a lot of good young prospects coming up besides cowan

Always a better day when a new Downtown video comes out……Considering. It was a very strong sellers market and salary cap restrictions, Trev did great……the dream would’ve been to add a big middle six LW or another 3C C and move Laughton to the wing….hopefully the Leafs can get early season Patches back for the playoffs….

Laughton and Carlo are great additions! Prospects and picks are always question marks, never know what they’ll develop into. Great moves for an “all-in” year
you gotta give to get, i think the Leafs did fine with the trades, i was saying all afternoon BRAAADD get Carlo and at 2:50 pm when TSN announced it i was a happy dude. i was hoping to keep Minten but i guess the team seen more upside in Cowan,hope he turns out to be good.
IM very surprized we didnt see Tanev as a leaf. I understand why. Youd have to pay for retention to get him down to 1.8 then probably more retention to get him down to 900k to fit this player in to have it make sense. so by the time they were done thats alot of draft picks out the door for a rental. i expect they sign him in the offseason.

There is no question that Tree paid a high price for both gets, but Carlo is simply better than guys like Schenn & Lyubushkin all day long. He is really tall, long, heavy, with a really good stick & is outstanding defensively. Excellent on the PK & moves well for a big man. For 3 playoff runs at 3.5M aav he's worth the price imo. I'm genuinely sorry to see Minten go. Laughton has drive, tenacity, physicality & has legit offence as a 30-40 point guy who plays reliable D. He's good on the PK.
Tree paid a high price in a sellers market, but the team is definitely better. I agree with Mr. Brown. Play Domi at RW with Matthews. He was most effective there last year. Marner makes JT better with McMann & Laughton between the defensively improved Robertson & the dangerous Bill Nye. If things don't gel for some reason, you can also move the 'Swiss army knife' Jarnkrok up in the lineup. 20 games left to get familiar with the new adds.
