Yzerman making Larkin wait like he did. Drafted in 83, waited 12 years for a competitive team. Larkin drafted in 2015. Gonna wait till 2027 at least. But hey, Yzerman stuck with it and won 3 cups here.

I love Yzerman but ownership really needs to evaluate him. The d line alone is terrible and the Walman trade … I don’t see a direction for this team.

My faith in Yzerman is gone. The fundamental core of this team is broken. There's no drive to this team whatsoever when it matters most and their defense has been some of the worst in hockey for the last few years. Washington, Ottawa, and Columbus have all had major turnarounds this season while we continue to stagnate at year 6 of the Yzerplan.
Really would have liked Bowen Byram. Bo and Mo as first pair D would be lethal. Edvinsson with eventual Sandin-Pelikka on 2nd pair would turn Detroit D into one of the best in league.
I understand trading Veleno. Bottom 6 bust of a player. But i would've take Smith and 6th over Smith and Mrazek. Yzerman drafts really well, but his trades are just awful. Look at Walman. And i understand free agents signings that are not great like Holl, Petry, Copp. But what i don't get is why the length of some them. 5 years each for Copp and Compher. 3 years for Holl. These contracts are just too long for rebuild rentals.

What is the difference between Husso and Mrazek ? The defensive in Detoit is what needs to be addressed. Why did Yzerman retain salary for Gourde, help Tamps, can someone explain.
