   Two words — ROD. BRINDAMOUR.

   The Canes have peaked, they are NEVER going to win a cup with that man behind the bench. His systems are old and modeled after the systems that worked during the dead puck era. Defense does win series in the postseason, but you also need to be able to score goals, something the Canes seem to have difficulty doing.

   If you can't score your way past the likes of a goaltender like Shesterkin or Bobrovsky, what are you actually going to do against a goaltender like Markstrom? (if the PO's began today, that's who they'd be facing)

   This is not one but TWO superstars who have left in consecutive years. Raleigh is a great place with a tropical climate, you can't say it's like EDM or CGY.

   It's the coach.

   Carolina is like a 'secondary' City, much like Winnipeg or Salt Lake, great cities, but not a 'huge' city like NY, Miami, LA, Toronto, Chicago, etc.

    Guentzel was ready to sign last year…The problem was a third of our roster was UFAs and we also had to get Seth Jarvis and Necas signed. Management made the mistake of trying to low ball Guentzel and although they eventually agreed to his terms after a few weeks, by that point he had enough and decided to go elsewhere. That was a completely different situation than with Rantanen – we had all the money in the world for Rantanen and in fact offered him more money than Dallas did. His decision to not stay clearly was because he didn't want to actually have to work for his points lol

    Is Pinder an idiot? The Twin Cities is a way bigger market than Raleigh.

    They have all 4 professional sports.

    Raleigh Durham is still one of the best metro areas. Great economy. Lots of varied cultural and artistic elements…

    Carolina never does enough to be a cup favourite. They do enough to make the playoffs that's it
