Tough game, lots of mistakes they jumped on. Bennett had way too much space out there most times. "Too many men" <– that's a penalty not worth getting. Lots of room for improvement. No coverage in front PK sucks, PP can't get set up and generate chances and lines are in the blender Jesus Christ…we could have tied them in the standings tonight but oh no…stupid penalties by taking too many men and only OEL getting called in the scrum in the first. PPs are so scarce in playoffs you must score when they get them players are way more careful not to take them and also don't want to block unnecessary shots and risk injury in playoffs on a PK. How the hell is this team going to have the urgency to win in a 7 game series vs either Florida or Tampa? Hell, we could fall into third place or even a wildcard if this keeps up

I predicted a 2-5 loss. Keeping the Panthers to three is kind of a win I guess. Leafs cannot handle heavy forechecking teams like Florida and they can't handle fast teams like Colorado. Who can they handle?

This team is soft. Like butter. Too scared to get in the paint and drive the net to produce a goal. Stick checks and flybys on defence. Just a core full of wankers in crunch time.
But like I said 5 years ago. leafs don’t care about winning when it matters. They don’t have too. They make billions selling hype , jerseys, beer and popcorn.

Some fans once again seem to get hyperbolic about one f*cking game. The history of teams in the east coming back from long roadies out west, is they historically lay an egg in their 1st home game back. The Leafs did not do that. Their effort was solid. They had 3 posts & a crossbar & about 7 or 8 narrow misses from in close clean looks. McCabe all alone, 6 feet out, right in front of 'Bob' & managed to miss the net completely. As Berube pointed out, O-zone time was decent yet once again not shooting when guys are net front.
I don't grasp the mentality of one more pass, because they often turn it over doing exactly that, yet continue to do so. Domi, Jarnkrok, Laughton & JT all had good games although I wish Laughton had been a 1/2 second faster on Jones in getting a critical clear with Jones prone on the ice. Close, yet sadly leading directly to Bennett's game winner. Entertaining game imo.

34 has to produce he's the Captain being paid top money. The PK was terrible covering the slot take Benny and Scotty off it. Top teams just play the trap clog up the neutral zone. Florida blocks players without taking interference penalties.
