Leafs can't play with an early lead. Good start 1st period means a bad ending. A good midgame 2nd period means a good ending. They play better when down a goal than when up a goal.
I think last 4-5 years all we were missing was a great goalie. Game 7 1 goal outcomes are a big save difference.
I think the team was better under Keefe, hopefully playoffs prove me wrong.
Same old. If the guys making the big money don't light things up against those we know bring their A game in the playoffs, it will mean another early exit for the Leafs.. Any Cup run window is closing. And fast. End of story.

Sooo refreshing to hear someone taking critical standpoint to this top heavy issue.
Usually it's just lot of jargon why it's this or that, but in no way challenging players' responsibilities contra their huge salaries.
The way I see it, these core guys are one tier above their paygrade atm. Biggest salaries should be for the guys like McDavid, Crosby etc, who elevate/drag whole team with them.
Core guys are exceptionally skilled guys, but none them does that, elevate rest of the team with them. On top of that there's too many of them in same team. They'd propably be at their best behind Crosby or someone who'd carry the heavy load and face media and leave them to operate more unpressured roles.

Too many men on the ice penalty, Scott could't get the puck over the blueline on the pk with the guy fallen on the ice, really sad.
Some people comment that the points don't matter much for this team… and that is both right & wrong. Yes, the playoffs are season #2… but a lot of other teams are playing hard, some of them because they need to and some of them because it's part of their identity.
