I am thinking Boeser or Marner in FA or a trade for another superstar. With 4 first round picks between 2025 and 28 there is a ton of capital to spend (and est 36m in cap space)
With the money the Canes will save if Burns and Orlov are not returning, and adding Morrow and Nikishin on ELCs, there is no bigger hole to fill than goaltending. I'm a Canes fan and while both Freddie and Pyotr are looking good right now, they've both proven to be streaky come playoff time. Pains me to have to say goodbye to Freddie, but it would be awesome to land someone more durable and reliable. Continue to grow Kochetov's game. If Nikishin pans out the way we hope, and Morrow sticks to the script, those ELCs are gonna to be massive in keeping our Cup window open for the next 3 years.
